Does AI-generated art posted on lemmy bother you?

I find that i can spot AI Images fairly easily these days, especially the sort of fantastical tableaus that get posted to the various AI communities around lemmy. I’m tired of seeing them; it all looks the same to me. Was wondering if im being too sensitive, or if other people are similarly bored of the constant unimaginative...

xkforce,

Then the copyright system needs to go away.

xkforce,

Something one of my exes said to me that id rather not think about let alone repeat. Break ups can bring out an evil darkness in people that you didn’t know was there.

xkforce,

This guy wiped out an entire race with a thought and your plan is to do what exactly?

xkforce,

The more PhDs I know and the closer I am to grad school, the more it feels like getting a PhD is about being stubborn than it is about being smarter than everyone in the room.

xkforce,

I think that was mostly when it came out. (Along with voyager) Over the years it is seemingly more appreciated.

xkforce,

Oh look its one of those snowflakes conservatives told me about.

xkforce,

From what I can tell, every account that people have cited as evidence for Charlie Chaplin losing a look a like contest are anecdotal and cant be verified.

xkforce,

Ever tried to shut down an ADHD brain that has easy access to a multitude of distractions?

xkforce,

Learning random trivia is kind of both tbh

xkforce,

Either turn the news off or do something about it i.e protest, donate to the ACLU etc.

Watching the news and not taking any tangible action is a recipe for depression and is thoroughly pointless.

xkforce,
  1. Simplify problems before trying to solve them.
  2. Generalizable solutions are better than ones that aren’t.
xkforce,

No one that wants that job should be allowed to.

xkforce,

If he wanted the job (he doesn’t) if I thought that congress wouldn’t fight him (they would) if I thought the supreme court would allow most of what he wants to get done get done (they wont) and if I thought he had a better chance than Biden does of getting a second term (I dont) then sure.

xkforce,

If your main concern is theft, a decentralized currency is not for you.

xkforce,

Its literally twitter.com and I despise musk so its called twitter for all of time.

Yes and it would very much fit the pattern:

2020: pandemic millions die

2021: january 6th

2022: Ukraine is invaded by Russia

2023: Gaza

2024: ???

xkforce,

People didn’t seem to mind fugly coal plants but now that weve got a clean energy source usually built in the middle of nowhere they suddenly have a problem with “visual pollution.”

To me it sounds a lot like those dudes that spew smoke out the back of their truck for no other reason than to “trigger” anyone they think might not approve.

Then you find out that the lack of an ingredient results in the microbes producing the product lol.

Certain algae for example, need to be “starved” in a way that results in them switching from conventional photosynthesis that produces glucose to photosynthesis that functions to generate Hydrogen and Oxygen alone. The Oxygen is used for respiration and the Hydrogen is essentially dumped as a waste product. They can only sustain this for relatively short periods before their stockpile of carbohydrates is sufficiently depleted. Which means these bioreactors need to be cycled through a fattening phase where the algae stockpile fuel and a starvation phase where they exhaust that stockpile while producing Hydrogen.

xkforce,

Well the alternative is us setting the solid, liquid and gas remains of their ancient ancestors on fire which slowly makes the planet uninhabitable.

xkforce,

Ive been trying to keep tabs on the literature in biochemistry, chemistry and other fields for decades. I inevitably come accross things like this from time to time. These particular articles I just googled because I dont have the bookmark for the original paper discussing Hydrogen production back in 2000.

Nitrogen starvation increases Hydrogen yield: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/402109/

Sulfur starvation doing the same as well as a strain that doesnt need to be starved: www.sciencedirect.com/…/S0360319920341550
