Making a USB desk fan from spare CPU fan
If I wanted to make a USB desk fan from a spare CPU fan (input: 12V, 0.15A), could I just solder a resistor to the positive lead of the USB wire? I plan on getting an adjustable voltage booster, but I was curious if this was possible. I think I would need a 13 ohm resistor for USB 3.0.

Since IVPN and Mullvad are both phasing out port forwarding, are there any alternatives? I am not looking for something like NordVPN which is a privacy nightmare. AirVPN is also not private enough considering I’ve seen reports online of ISPs sending out DMCA letters of gold to its users.

I'm currently looking into various DC DC converters and was confused that the Meanwell DDR-60 series only shows a typical rating but says nothing about the efficiency at idle. From AC/DC converters I'm used to have a curve that starts at idle and maybe 70% and goes to 100% load, having the peak at ninetee something....
