SheeEttin, to privacy in How Do I Avoid Giving Home Address to Bank?

Those info sites aren’t built from bank records. They’re built from public records databases like voters, property, taxes, legal cases, and government actions, including stuff like just showing up to the city council to complain.

You could conceivably open an account in another country where they’re very private about banking info, but it wouldn’t help your case, and it would probably be a huge hassle for your day to day life.

Sounds like instead of the whitepages, you’ll end up on an FBI list.

/s sorry for the non-answer…I dont really have any practicle advice beyond being careful you don’t end up suspected of criminal activity. Your privacy will really go down hill if the gov. is actually paying attention to you.

It’s an establish term in the field since the1950s.

I believe it is illegal to misrepresent your permanent residence to your bank.

Evrala, to asklemmy in What are you drinking tonight, and is it what you really want to be drinking?

I’m drinking cheap matcha, I wish I was drinking nice matcha.

Wait till you learn about phonebooks, the OG white pages. I don’t think banks are the source of the info that appears on the ‘white pages’ type sites.

DeadWorld, (edited ) to manga in Okay, I've read Berserk, had cries and laughters, but vomited from the Gantz. What another manga should I read?

Hells Paradise is great, while the anime looks okay, the artist does great work with all the different forms of Buddhist mythological representation.

Vinland Saga should be up your alley if your up for something still running, biolence is graphic but serves to move everything forward

Into some horror? Bio-meat should be good. Monsters as disgusting in detail to a point i cant read to musch of it, but give it a spin

edit If you just want exploitation, check out DeadTube. All about T&A on a surprisingly popular underground site. Trigger warning for most anything you can think of that would be offensive to the average reader

editx2 Ajin is also great for fun violence with crazy kills

sun_is_ra, to linux in I made a mistake **RESOLVED**

in many cases you could simply move the directory that is taking too much space to different directory then either make softlink or if that didnt work you can use mount --bind

for example if directory /var/cach/mygame is too big, move my game to /mnt/part2/mygames

then either do ln -s /mnt/part2/mygames /var/cach/ or mount --bind /mnt/part2/mygames /var/cach/mygames

the miunt option is not permanent so if it works, u will need to add it to /etc/fstab to make it permenent

If you own a home, your address is already a matter of public record.

You either get paid in cash or get physical checks and cash them.

Claymore is good fantasy with a bit of darker elements. Barely any service. Not for everyone, I enjoyed immensely.

Enkers, (edited ) to manga in Okay, I've read Berserk, had cries and laughters, but vomited from the Gantz. What another manga should I read?

You could try the Akira manga if you haven’t read it already. It certainly has some body-horror elements, although not to the level of Ito, and it’s a lot more substantial than something like Gantz.

Mayyybbe Gunnm (Battle Angel Alita) as well? Hard to say. It can be a bit fluffier than the rest at times, but it certainly has it’s share of hyper-violent parts too.

(Full disclosure, I haven’t read those in years, so YMMV.)

Ito really is in a class of his own, so if that’s your bar, it’ll be pretty hard to clear.

I thought Akira was only in anime format. TIL.

I was bad at explaining it, but I want to have panels that I would like to look at for minutes and be inspired by them. Masochistic pedantism of Ito and Miura was just that: I enjoyed their wider panels like I enjoy the drawings of Hieronimus Bosch, looking at them for a long while.

I’d look into BAA and Claymore that another user suggested. Thank you.

Enkers,

I personally enjoy Ito more for the psychological elements, and although I certainly appreciate the art in and of itself, that wasn’t my main draw so I might not be the best person to make recommendations.

That said, Akira’s original manga form really is just as seminal to that medium as it’s anime counterpart was. I think the storytelling is a bit dated, but the illustration is phenomenal. Since you’re sailing the seas anyways, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to take a quick peek at the art to see if it appeals to you.

Regardless, hope you find something you like!

Yamainwitch, to asklemmy in What's a movie you don't really watch but your damn proud to have on your shelf?

The Fountain, it’s one of those movies that just absolutely blew me away and I had to have it but I’m just never quite in the emotional state to revisit yet I still recommend. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and devastating. What Dreams May Come is a very close second, but I feel like after Robin Williams’ death it’s even more so, but the movie itself is just so beautifully done and heart wrenching.

jasparagus,

I loved the fountain, too. It is so incredibly beautiful, and I’m glad to own it for the same reasons. I also can’t imagine when I’ll want to watch it again…

dditty, to asklemmy in What songs do you like that are in a language which you don't speak?

Tunak Tunak Tun will forever be a banger.
