In the early 200x, I was listening to an Argentinean punk rock group called Dos Minutos.

None of the song names really stick out to me (of course), but here’s a link to one.

LWD, to privacy in What is the community's opinion on Session and Session Automated Software?

Simplifiedprivacy dot com needs to be blacklisted from Lemmy communities, it’s a blog trying to sell some really silly services.

As for Session, they’ve never made an original product that I’ve ever seen - they took Signal and Monero, peeled off the labels, and made them (especially Signal, IMO) worse in both aesthetics and privacy protection.

And the company behind this is in Australia, a country where you need to weaken products (by adding backdoors) upon government request.

Yesbutnotreally,

I agree. I do trust session as well, even if their “marketing” on mastodon is rather unprofessional.

It does however hurt serious actors when they get mentioned on sites that spam and claim to be serious like the one you mentioned. I hope that the mods here will clear up their spam posts

possiblylinux127,

Session is very much not a clone of Signal. They forked it way back and the entire back end and front end are different. Session uses the lokinet behind the scenes which stores messages encrypted and routes traffic. Session isn’t completely decentralized to my knowledge as its a work in progress but for now it is harder to block or censor compared to signal.

Even if you have your doubts, its been audited and found to be reasonably secure so it shouldn’t be a security risk. I still don’t use it due to its lack of invites but if they add stable calls I might just switch. For now I use it to send data between my devices.

KRAW, to food in Advice wanted for salty pizza
@KRAW@linux.community avatar

TBH the solution is to salt the pesto less and salt your toppings more, probably by just adding finishing salt after cooking the pizza. Also consider using a nonfresh mozzarella, which generally has more flavor. While the creaminess of fresh is nice, I find it to be way too bland most of the time.

This problem is the exact reason why I stick to pepperoni and banana peppers. They are inherently flavorful and salty.

I have Session. Given that it’s a fork of Signal and more anonymous I’m inclined to trust it from a privacy standpoint but can’t say I have the knowledge to really critique it’s tech. People aren’t really on there yet, at least nobody I know, so I don’t have much use for it yet but I would if it catches on a bit more at some point.

nieceandtows, to asklemmy in What's a movie you don't really watch but your damn proud to have on your shelf?

This Tamil movie called Chittha that I watched recently. It’s a heavy subject (child abduction, implied child SA, and more), and most of the people I know skipped the movie including my wife and my parents (The movie actually kind of bombed at the box office because of how many people skipped it), but it was a damn good movie. As a father of an 8yo myself, it was a sobering must watch for me that I probably would never watch again.

1995ToyotaCorolla, (edited ) to asklemmy in Have you ever seen coal burn? If yes, why?
@1995ToyotaCorolla@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t think I’ve ever seen coal burn, but you can find pieces of it along the abandoned railways and beaches in my area. We have a coal dock that’s been abandoned for 50 years and the ground is still black with coal dust

Edit: actually a scenic railroad in my area still has a coal fired steam locomotive so yes, I can say I’ve seen coal burn!

intensely_human, to asklemmy in When someone says "kiss my ass" does it refer to the hole or the cheek?

Well, normal ass-kissing is the cheek. A true brown-noser, though, takes it too far.

Maybe try Dorohedoro

Pandantic, to chat in To end capitalism we need to ignore it.
@Pandantic@midwest.social avatar

The best way, imo, is to put your cash money in people and businesses that support socialist ideals rather than capitalist ones. What you propose sounds like a utopian scenario, but until we can step out of paying money for things, we should do our best to keep it out of the hands of the bourgeois. And I want to emphasize that this includes the big banks that make money off of processing payments.

A Very Brady Sequel is genuenly one of my all time favorite movies. It’s completely unhinged.
