Same. My daughter is a week shy of 18 months, and has fully progressed past the stage of saying YES! to everything excitedly. Now it’s noooo for everything. Makes putting her in the car seat in the crowded grocery store parking lot a nice treat.
Mine is 21 months. She is almost all day just going going going! She grabs my shirt to get me to stand up and go wherever she wants to go. Her new thing is she likes hanging out in her room but only if mom or dad also are in there with her. It’s a lot of fun right now but a lot.
As they say, generally a repeated 'why' is not out of pure interest, it's a bit for attention. After a few of those, feel free to give nonsense answers.
Mines the same age, doing the same thing xD. She's looking for some control. I usually give her the illusion of control by giving her two options, don't want to get dressed? "Would you like to wear your yellow dress or your red dress today?" Same with food, works for me.
I’m gonna try that tomorrow. Especially with food. She has been a mess trying to get her to eat lately. She was a late walker, didn’t start walking till 19 months and almost like a light switch once she started walking. Eating wasn’t in the priority anymore. It’s going wherever and doing whatever!
Yes, 100% its like “I have freedom now” I can walk! I can sorta express myself!
Yep.. Exactly where I am. She is so darn cute but it can be frustrating at times for her and me. She just can't express herself fully yet... even though her mind is.
Man, the independent streak lasts huh? My daughter wants to do everything herself already! Also, that sounds cute to me but at the same time I totally know for you as the parent dealing with it...
Why are all the answers here from FMHY? It was like 20th on the list in terms of popularity when I joined. I chose it because it had fewer restrictions - users can create their own communities and, most importantly, downvote (the chart I looked at said some didn’t have downvotes??). Also I assume pirates know how to run a server.
Yeah same, I’m from FMHY as well and I’m really confused as to why everyone is saying FMHY.
I picked it because I skipped over the first couple large communities looking for smaller ones that allowed everything. Didn’t really care about the piracy aspect at all.
I’m starting to feel we should delete this whole thread and replace it with how much FMHY sucks and is the worst instance ever the admins are literal trash pandas please don’t come here. I like it small.
It depends on how many small bills the tooth fairy happens to have on him at the relevant night. I'm only a little ashamed in admitting that, one day when only $20s were in the wallet, I may have snuck into the LO's room, grabbed a couple of singles from her piggy bank, and then had the tooth fairy give her those (supplementing later, of course).
i mean so far, I'm enjoying it. sure, the community isn't as large, but that's mostly a good thing. on reddit, if i made a post, it would be like a 25% chance to get hundreds of comments, and a 75% chance to get none. here, I've gotten a few, high quality responses on every question post I've made. i do miss the "auto hide read posts" feature, but maybe that'll get added some day
Is there a way to stop the endless loading of posts on the website? Because every time I try to click a post, it moves down because a new post loaded, and this happens every ten seconds, constantly.
It's a bug that wasnt an issue when the community was smaller. Last I heard they will replace it with a refresh icon that pops up at the top when new posts are available.
I don’t agree. If I like LOTR and giraffes I don’t want to create an account on both “instance groups”. I want to do like today and create a single account, then subscribe to the communities I am interested in wherever they are.
To me it sounds like you are sort of mixing up community location and community discovery. This is sort of the case right now because instances have a list of local communities but I think that it is best that they are separated. For example on Reddit I don’t generally find new communities by scanning the entire list of communities. I usually find them when someone mentions a related community in a comment of a community that I am already in. Or when I stumble across a community when searching the web. When you discover and subscribe to communities this way it doesn’t really matter where they are hosted or if they are grouped. You can organically discover things that interest you over time (although I agree that it can be a bit slow to start).
You can subscribe and post on different instances. But, I don't think all pertinent communities should be on one CENTRALIZED instance since that defeats the point of the Fediverse.
@jaykay@kamasupra sorta… like I’m replying via my Mastodon account. Currently there isn’t post creation, though some googling has shown that it’s something they’re working towards.
But you basically copy the Fediverse Logo Link of a post and paste it on search in your mastodon client. It appears as a toot and you can comment; Lemmy will display it natively like this comment.
Favoriting the post on Mastodon counts as an upvote.
It's a subreddit where people would share and discuss non-canon lore for various children's media. I remember a post where we speculated on the religion(s) observed in Danial Tiger, for example. (There is no god but Trolly.)
