Kinds wish they moved panel 1 to 4 for the reveal

MacNCheezus,
@MacNCheezus@lemmy.today avatar

But then he’d be going there after he arrived already

bionicjoey,

Reveal it on a sign in the room or by revealing a blackboard with it written then

Kusimulkku,

Or teacher coming in announcing the class, “welcome to making friends 101”

Nelots,

Also easily fixed by just removing the dinosaur from the first panel.

Seasm0ke,

Ha don’t get me wrong its still good. You could fix that with a runner that says 5 min ago it earlier that day or remove the Dino. Subverting expectations is a big part of the laugh for me but your joke is great.

Do people under 40 just not buy bread in your world?

This art style makes me want to play Scribblenauts

bstix, to lemmyshitpost in Let the triggering begin

I know what it is, but I have no idea what it’s called. Like, if I had to order them from the factory, I’d probably get the wrong ones.

RisingSwell, to lemmyshitpost in Let the triggering begin

Still exists in cardboard form, not entirely sure why people wouldn’t know what this is at basically any age, unless they buy no bread products?

Here in the UK, I don't think I've seen one of those in use for more than 20 years. Maybe it is still in use elsewhere?

Daeraxa, (edited )

I don’t think i’ve seen one. Even loaves from bakers 20 years ago were sealed using that little machine with strips of red sticky tape.

r00ty,
@r00ty@kbin.life avatar

I have a clear memory from the 80s for sure where these were routinely used on pre-sliced bread loaves. I'm sure I have seen them since the 80s. But they became much rarer for certain.

This, is an occlupanid. To read further about the fascinating research on these, see the “Holotypic Occlupanid Research Group” (HORG) website. www.horg.com/horg/

Usernamealreadyinuse,

Risky click of the day, but darn interesting!

indomara,

Aren’t humans great sometimes? :)

FlyingSquid,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

Wait, there’s not just one kind?

indomara,

Indeed not! Australia has some interesting ones not yet classified, if you come across an occlupanid in your daily life that has not yet been classified and catalogued, you can contact HORG and send them in. :)

FlyingSquid,

Mind blown.

They just download it from the cloud nowadays

alquicksilver,
@alquicksilver@lemmy.world avatar

Soggy bread sounds terrible. Do they at least keep it in a bread box in the cloud?

Mr_Fish,

You wouldn’t download a loaf

MacNCheezus,
@MacNCheezus@lemmy.today avatar

I totally would

Ridiculous. I’m only 35 and I can tell that this is obviously a Starburst with a hole punched out.

If you were over 40, you'd call them opal fruits!

Still widely used in the Netherlands so everyone here knows.

At first I thought of course everybody knows, but the longer I was thinking: I haven’t seen one in a long time

LodeMike, to lemmyshitpost in Let the triggering begin

They still use these???

ohlaph,

That’s what I was thinking. I lost one to my bagels last week.

LodeMike,

I’m sorry.

OP sais this " … steal or vandalize speed enforcement cameras …"

deaf_fish,

They didn’t say that, but they definitely implied it. If OP said that, they would be getting a little visit from the police or FBI.

BigDanishGuy,

I’m sure that the US navy seals has already infiltrated OP’s house and neutralized the threat. Merely joking about destroying traffic cams definitely warrants this type of action. /s

dumpsterlid,

I mean, historically if you are black or a socialist or something else considered inherently dangerous by US conservatives than yes, something like this is unfortunately as absurd as it sounds, enough to trigger that kind of action. You have to be someone they already find suspicious though, not some rando on the internet.

Police are the dumbest and most violent demographic in the US.
