9point6,

Isn’t freebsd the more general purpose, more bleeding edge (comparatively) option with openbsd having a focus on security and netbsd with a focus on portability and stability.

9point6,

This is the answer. At least, it’s the only thing I’ve ever heard someone not from the internet call it.

For the party (and currently government of the UK) “sponsoring” the fake ad, directly murdering homeless people by chopping them in half would be pretty on-brand, they pretty much kill them off indirectly with legislation already and disparage the homeless in the media all the time.

I agree that halving homelessness would be of benefit to everyone, but the Tories don’t particularly care about benefit to anyone apart from themselves and their masters.

Probably Radiohead

Or Trent Reznor

9point6,

I would forever be thinking, “what if I accidentally walk out though?” And proceed to never go near that window

9point6,

Okay I was with you until

Served with […] Pyssling Pudding. A mix of lime jell-o and chocolate.

What in the hell, this clearly goes much deeper than I imagined

9point6,

I must know more

Either I’m hoping I’m gonna learn about a strange tradition or that I’m about to read a load of carefully crafted bullshit to seem like the former.

Either way I’m happy, so tell me more about your traditional festively microwaved sausages

9point6,

Of course you go for the no true slippery slope climbing, red herring walking, goalpost moving Scottish straw man argument

9point6,

This is someone pretending to be gpt2

And triple check the device path, you don’t want to unceremoniously unmount and obliterate one of your non-system drives (shouldn’t be able to unmount your system drive)

This may or may not be advice from learned experience

After 23 years, developer reveals he snuck a cheat code past Sony that turns a cult-classic horror game into a godsend for retro enthusiasts (www.gamesradar.com)

Article about a recent revelation by the Youtube Channel Modern Vintage Gaming: The game “Alien Resurrection” by Argonaut contains a code which allows to run burned CD copies of Playstation 1 games.

9point6,

Oh yeah, this is a bubble, but fwiw, there should be minimal compatibility issues possible from my understanding as this is essentially the change disk mechanism we see in several games, but without the check that the correct disk has been inserted. Of course there’ll be edge cases (and I’m gonna imagine there might be some late stage additional copy protection in some games that doesn’t rely on the boot up checks), but on hardware as simple as the playstation it’s going to be pretty much: if you’re running the executable, you’re running the game as if it’s passed the checks

Good luck getting a copy if you don’t already have one, scalpers have already raided everywhere.

Edit: apparently the Christmas drinking has affected my reading comprehension

Still a warning for anyone else thinking the same

9point6,

Wouldn’t it just be hbomberguy’s yearly video?

9point6,

Oh shit, you’re right, okay game on

Will it be decided by a tournament bracket?

9point6, (edited )

Was gonna say, a video essay is almost an entirely distinct form of media from a written essay. And to conflate the two really disregards and diminishes a lot of the creative process that goes behind both.

A good written essay might make a terrible video essay, and vice versa.

9point6,

Which horses legs move? big horse, small horses or both?

9point6, (edited )

Might not be a PC but a security camera or some other outdoors mounted device

9point6,

Big releases are harder to test and debug issues.

If your release contains a single change and something goes wrong, you’ve got a pretty good idea of where the problem is before you even start to look.

If the friction of creating a release is low (with automated tooling) and updating is (typically) automatic there’s not really a good reason to not release as often as possible in most cases.

9point6,

Obvious biohazard is a cute name for that dog

9point6,

We do yes! Also internet forums are called e-pubs and the Royal Mail & British Telecom created a system called e-post in the late 80s to take care of our communication needs

9point6,

To be fair, they couldn’t remember the greatest song in the world, no

It was just a tribute

9point6,

Tenacious D really fumbled this one

9point6,

What do you mean? There’s two tits right there!

9point6,

Paint the windows in chalkboard paint

You say no way, I say no imagination
