and if you want to stop it you need to pay $9.99/month

At first. Then within a couple of years they will no longer offer a free version, and even those who pay will be forced to do whatever privacy invading garbage they push (as you say, can't take it out - the epitome of "captive audience").

In the UK PIP is Personal Independence Payment, which is our disability benefit, which had me really confused, because no fucking way

A. your boss cares enough (or is even able) to get you on it and

B. the Department of Work and Pensions would give anyone PIP for "mere" mental health issues (I have multiple disabilities and am declined every time I have to renew my benefit because their default is simply to decline all applications).

So yeah, "performance improvement plan" makes much more sense lol

Imagine being the person with an ego so fragile they can't help but edit her statement this way

this you?

At least you tried 😂
(what you did do though is manage to give a live demonstration of exactly the kind of man women know we're better off without lmfao)

You're literally doing it again.. Are you going to call me hysterical next, and then mansplain your "joke" to me? 😂
Your bullshit didn't land, feel free to keep digging yourself deeper in it, but I'm going to excuse myself at this point lol

She is right, with her actual statement

(ETA source that proves her right: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/may/25/women-happier-without-children-or-a-spouse-happiness-expert)

Imagine being the person with an ego so fragile they can't help but edit her statement this way (not saying it's OP, though if it is - 🤦‍♀️)

Well said, both of your comments.

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and the people who focus on policing where others shop (or what others eat), instead of fighting the system that enables and encourages these corporations to exist and operate in the horrific way they do, are literally doing nothing to tackle the problem itself and are 100% doing it for their own dopamine hit and feelings of superiority (E: this is of course encouraged in capitalist society by those it serves via their media to divert attention away from them).

I'm also autistic as well as housebound, so I literally have no choice but to buy everything online, and while I try my best, there's almost no avoiding amazon, since even small businesses now sell through them exclusively. It's so frustrating how rarely the classism and ableism in those kinds of comments is discussed.

Never mind that it isn't even their retail business that makes them the bulk of their money, but AWS, but point that out to the person telling people not to shop there, and that it means that they almost certainly provide amazon income passively every time they use the internet, and watch the most incredible mental gymnastics display you'll see in a while. 🤦‍♀️

Using some certain technology or service doesn't mean we agree with their leadership or policies

Absolutely.
Especially in a world they've manufactured specifically to leave us no choice, from food, and hygiene (and cosmetics, which like fashion are entirely manufactured for profit and perpetuated by the media.) to energy, and so on and so on.
Wherever we spend, it almost certainly ends up in the hands of one of a few hundred people, that have created an illusion of choice.

When men get cheered on and aggrandised for having a high "body count", while women get shamed and stigmatised if they do, it isn't borderline, it's blatant and outright sexism.

They can't answer that, because the source was never the issue, they never even clicked through to see what the source was. Them being a bootlicker who can't help but jump to the defence of and make excuses for the pigs is the only reason for this thread..

Not being open about it doesn't mean they don't support the same things, it just means they're better at hiding it (and Starmer isn't even very good at doing that). They definitely aren't posing any real opposition to any of it in parliament.

Cheese and fruit are a pretty well known and loved combination (not just fresh like on a cheese board, but things like chutney too), I don't see why it wouldn't work (I wouldn't eat it because I don't like raisins, but I don't object to the idea)

and remember that the more you fall, the more I’m laughing in the backseat.

So when the car finally crashes, you'll be right there to die alongside the people you're laughing at? How thoughtful!

I too wish there was a separate meme community, where those who have never contributed to a meme community can go to whine about the content of the existing meme communities instead of scrolling past things they don't understand or like and moving on with their lives. I just can't find any fucks to give about your need to make everything about you and your personal taste. Like, what does this whining achieve? Why are there always people who think everything on earth needs to cater directly to them, and if it doesn't it must be bad?

(hint: instead, you can just block and move along, just like I've done with you!)

Unfortunately there are very few redundant "vegan" labels since even plain sugar can be non-vegan (being processed using bone char) not to mention a ton of different fats, colourings, and other additives that can all come from either animal, plant, or synthetic source, and unless the manufacturer confirms, as a customer you have no way of knowing which it is, unless they've labelled it.

Got to wonder who's making enough money off of shitty sunscreen sales to ensure no competition get approved (can't think of any other reason this is the case for you Americans, other than corruption)...

First of all, let me introduce you to this little word:

or

it means one could be, or another could be. It is not an assertion.

Now to the point:

Imagine that, a guy who centres his entire life around booze to a degree that he prioritises recording a booze review for an audience of zero over interacting with his partner that is walking out on their relationship, is setting of some red flags.

Also imagine that - people who have suffered domestic abuse can recognise those red flags from miles away while those who haven't sit there and smugly brush them off. I bet plenty of the people here also say shit like "if it was that bad she would have left" which is why I made my comment explaining why victims of abuse either don't leave or leave and then go back.

But hey, it's all jokes to those of you who think this shit will never impact you personally.

DessertStorms,
@DessertStorms@kbin.social avatar

You're not making the point you think you are, he clearly has an unhealth relationship with alcohol (and the woman in the video) and calling him an "aficionado" doesn't change that.
The person I replied to was the one who started speculating, and I added an alternative speculation, which seemed much more realistic to me. all things considered.
You are also speculating.
So fuck off with somehow getting upset over people bringing up the possibility of abuse because it makes you uncomfortable (and the reasons why are for you to examine with yourself).
