The problem is not being able to diferenciate between disabled people fighting tooth and nail for their rights, and oil companies (as a single example of capitalisms) paying pocket change over cocktails to continue exploiting humanity and destroying the planet.
They are not the same, nor do they deserve the same rights and considerations, yet disabled people are still marginalised and widely discriminated against, while oil companies make record profits, because they're actively working to convince people like you that they are the same, and do deserve the same consideration, and that if you stop them, you'll be harming disabled people too. They're literally concern trolling you while they stomp all over the disabled people you've evoked to argue for the capitalists' rights, as well as billions of others.
A blanket end to “lobbying” would also lock out citizens groups.
they already are locked out, one group that you clearly don't care about but I happen to be a member of managing to fight despite the current system to get less than the bare minimum isn't the proof you think it is of lobbying providing access.
But hey, if arguing in favour of avenues for legal corruption is the hill you want to die on, knock yourself the fuck out, you just don't get to do that, especially when you try to (badly!) use marginalised people as your debate tool, without getting your bullshit called out.. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Also, fuck off patronising and tone policing me, your first reply was perfectly clear, and me telling you you're wrong and explaining why isn't you being persecuted, despite how it might feel to your clearly privileged and wilfully ignorant (of, at the bare minimum, the fight for disability rights, never mind how lobbying actually works and who it actually serves) self.
Exactly - it's there for those already hoarding all the wealth and power to control government, not an actual viable route for "every people" (never mind those who are further marginalised) to have any impact whatsoever on the system those aforementioned people are maintaining.
You can still check back on conversations that interest you, you just don't have to deal with the rest.. 👍
To be completely honest, on kbin blocking someone doesn't stop the notification coming through when they reply, and switching off notifications was the easiest way around that. This has probably been fixed already, and may be completely different on lemmy, but I actually prefer it this way. The only disadvantage I can think of is potentially missing replies to older conversations (and if I really must know, I can always scroll back my profile and find it, though I've not had that need yet), but I guess that's a price I'm willing to pay to avoid those anxiety inducing little fuckers that are notifications.. 😂
and the cookies that they use to spy on people to determine the probability of you being a human
which is why I assume, as a VPN user who rejects as many cookies as possible, I constantly have to do 5-6 fucking captchas in a row, sometimes more, before it'll let me through.. I can't be that bad at doing them lol
Is it frustrating? Fuck yeah. Will it get me to change my behaviour and drop those measures so that the companies getting in my way can collect more of my data? Fuck no.
Right, because there isn't rampant capitalism and wide spread poverty pretty much everywhere else too.. 🙄🙄🙄
(am in UK and you're full of shit. I recommend checking your privilege, or at least taking your head out of your ass long enough to have a look around)
Yeah, class reductionism will only ever lead to more oppression of those already marginalised.
If your leftism doesn't include intersectionality, you're doing it wrong.
(to be clear - "culture wars" are a right winged distraction, but they are based on very real and massively impactful systems of oppression that they are trying to maintain, ignoring this only enables them, and guarantees those systems will remain even if we get economical change)
There is moss everywhere around here (UK), on pavements, paths, lawns.. Never mind in wooded and otherwise rural areas. Honestly it would seem harder to avoid occasionally walking on it..
I like her waist-arm-nub going to grab his butt, but I don't like how deeply it's made me think about the configuration of his groins (best conclusion I can come to is single butt and double genitalia, one set each side of his front leg).
Definitely not a sentence I ever thought I would think of, let alone write lol
Except artificial scarcity means "supply" is often sat at the start line rotting away (or becoming obsolete), waiting for those making all the money while they manipulate the markets to increase their own profit..
You not liking the thought of it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen
Since the poop is expelled at full speed, it will likely be scattered in various directions, and possibly even reach other sled dogs and the musher who must navigate through the messy ordeal.
Despite the smelly mess, it's just another challenge that can be added to the other challenges that sled dog teams must overcome, on top of all the other glorious adventures in the frozen wilderness. Fortunately, mushers wear goggles or other protective gear to avoid any flying debris from reaching their eyes.
Also, I'd much rather use a sled that takes longer (zoomies, laser, toy, there are ways!), but that the animals pulling it not only stop to poop, but bury it too, rather than going-on-the-go and having it spray all over the sled users.. 😂
