I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
I am a massive Star Wars fan and cannot understand people who expect it to be high cinema. It’s a series about space wizards and WW2-style air battles. Like all fantasy/SF, it is occasionally commentary on real-world stuff, but it isn’t trying to be Star Trek. Things are allowed to just be fun
I’m a huge space nerd. I did also appreciate the visuals and realistic portrayal of time dilation, and should have noted that (though it may have diluted my opinion a bit?). I just didn’t like the actual movie itself.
Oh my god I loved this as a kid, and had a shitload of the toys, and from my late teens on I’ve been trying like hell to figure out what this show/line of toys was!!!
Thank you for posting this today. Gonna show my kids. This is so wild.
There was this PC FMV game back in the early 90’s where there’s this woman doing all kinds of things that gets herself killed and all you do is flip the right switches at the right time and enter 3 digit codes.
There is a massively conservative movement lurking in the left, which opposes any new advances and wants people to return to subsistence farming and shit. Same kind of people that argue against having kids to gut the population worldwide
Those people aren’t even worth arguing with. They’re not the people that will show up to do any work to accomplish policy objectives. They aren’t serious, their objections will never be listened to, and they don’t actually want to make anything better.
It’s just tradwife-homesteader fantasizing, just with a different economic view and less (but not 0) racism.
For my last open-office gig, it was 100% necessary because every salesperson worked with a junior, and you had to listen to them all the time to teach them.
Strong disagree. Massively worse health outcomes, food insecurity, lack of opportunity for children due to worse educational opportunities, and less opportunity to be what you want to be instead of simply survive all contribute to make poverty decidedly not “fine.”
Very serious question: have you ever, as an adult, lived in poverty?
Because I have, and I found absolutely nothing noble in it. There’s nothing morally superior about skipping meals so your kid can eat. It’s just sad and shitty.
Brave people push boundaries so that less brave people can read things in books.
Edit: I assume the people downvoting this obvious truth think I’m calling them cowards. I assure you I will be right there with you curled up reading books about caving. Fuck all that.
What is your unpopular flim opinion
