None of my business, but maybe you should focus on what’s causing you to fail in school first. I get that it’s the summer, now, and there’s no classes, but if there’s certain subjects you’re falling behind in, there’s resources online to get caught up in those subjects before the fall. What’s your situation? Maybe I can offer some advice.
You could hold a yard sale and try to sell your stuff, but you should talk to your parents first, because… they might not appreciate that.
Depending on how old you are, there might be businesses offering part time work over the summer. What the age limit for that is, and what additional requirements there are, will vary based on where you live.
Do you have any potentially marketable skills? For example, web development for small businesses is something you could potentially offer that would pay better than yard work and generally be less tiring.
I enjoy Mastodon a lot, had two accounts there since last November. It’s good for just quick casual updates and convos that don’t take much thinking or drain your social battery. My partner is on Pixelfed but I just follow him from Mastodon so that works well.
Recently signed up to Bookwyrm because I was saving way too many scifi book recommendations on here and figured it made sense to organise them somewhere.
I use LinkStack for my content creator alter ego, and am considering getting into PeerTube too, but need to look into that more.
HRT is short for Hormone Replacement Therapy, a treatment many transgender people use to feel more aligned with their gender identity. It’s been proven to increase mental health, and has a low regret rate. However, it is correlated with higher mortality because trans people overall have a higher mortality rate and HRT is primarily used by trans people.
A more extreme example of the same thing would be “People on chemotherapy have a higher chance of dying from cancer than people not on chemotherapy.” It’s true, but only because people without cancer don’t tend to enter chemotherapy.
HRT was originally used to treat menopausal women at risk for osteoporosis, who are at higher risk due to being old.
I'm aware that transgenders also have a higher than otherwise expected mortality (whether taking hormones or not), but they may not be numerous enough to move the needle against millions of old women.
The general “Music” and “Movie” threads because I did discover stuff on them as well as being able to suggest stuff.
But have been satisfied with some of these that are still small but growing - curlyhair, science fiction, cocktails (mine now), fermentation and sourdough. And overall happy to give up the faster moving subs and be here for the beginning time.
A1: Philips 43" 439P9H/00. Probably not recommended, as there are better models out there since it was produced. It’s great as a working station, and with proper tools (Power Toys for Windows), it smoothly becomes a display with multiple sections. That doesn’t make it compatible with full screen modes, but only for windowed programs.
A2: I don’t think it supports PIP/PBP, but I have never looked into it.

edit: Also, if you only want to see what you’re subscribed to in your timeline, you can click on “Subscribed” where you see “Subscribed Local All” at the top of your timeline. Subscribed will show you communities you’re subscribed to on all instances. Local will show posts from all communities only on your local instance, and All will show posts from all communities from all instances (at least, all instances that your local instance is federated with.)

Rest assured, it was :-)

My ADD is on full swing because I’ve been on Lemmy for the past month and never noticed that button until you mentioned it (although in my defense, it seems sometimes that button shows up as plain text, not clickable - apparently another UI bug). I finally blocked some silly communities that tended to show up on the “All” listing.

Probably something to do with that bug of very old posts showing up at random on the “Hot” sorting.
