I had to drag myself out of the house for strength training once a week at first. It took a while but I actually started enjoying it to the point that I go to the gym almost every day now. I think it helps a lot that the gym is like a 2 minute walk though.
But seriously, my music taste is pretty much her. Otherwise I like alt rock, rock (not too heavy though), ballads, pop that has good lyrics and a decent hook, and any song I hear that has guitars I like 25% more than those that don’t.
I don’t want everyone in the room to know what I’m listening to. But if I need to sing because THIS SONG HITS then I get it off the headphones and to speakers or just my phone audio output.
People eat raw eggs all the time. Have you ever done mayonaise or chocolate mousse ? it’s made of raw-eggs. In most of the first world, salmonella isn’t an issue, there is strict food safety norm making sure any salmonella case would be caught quickly before eggs/meat make it into the store.
The only real argument I’d make is that most manufacturers only push out security updates for a given model for a couple of years, but different companies have different support timelines.
Of course you can be pushing hard or some jackass in a car just passed you with inches to spare, and those times aren’t fun, but most of the time it’s fun. My wife says I do my best thinking while I’m riding. If I’m on a group ride, there’s often good conversation with friends.
Depending on where you live, it might be nice to see a lot more of what’s around you on a bike. It’s similar to OP’s idea of getting lost in the flow of a competitive sport. You get lost looking at all the places that pass you by. You can take random routes each time and learn the city around you pretty well. It doesn’t hurt to have your headphones in and listen to an audiobook while you’re doing this either.
I never really got into running because it’s so much slower than biking. You will see a fraction of what you see on a bike, so I think it probably gets boring quicker. Plus it puts more strain on your joints.
What could go wrong with giving a democratic government the power to strip voting rights from those people they deem unsuitable to vote on how they are governed? /s
I’m 30 and have a small family, too. When I watch shorts on YouTube I get the exact same content you’re describing. None of the long videos I’m watching are political, yet the Algo keeps throwing them at me. I get a lot of Jordan Peterson crap or lil Wayne explaining how there’s no racism. I hate it.
The lil Wayne stuff is so strange. Usually when some specific celebrity pops up in my feed I assume their publicist is rehabbing their image after some public incident or recently exposed private conflict. YouTube shorts isn’t like that.
YouTube shorts seems to be exclusively just a pipeline to rightwing talking points and the unfunniest parts of stand up comedy framed to serve the same rightwing pipeline.
