Anything with magic, super powers, monsters, daemons, aliens tends to be terrifying from a common persons point of view. Parasyte is rather disturbing even for the main character. The only answer in that one seems to be go live alone in the woods / hope for a quick death vs being infected.
I live in the desert so its usually a dry heat so I get to use a evaporative/swamp cooler. It uses way less electricity than the AC. I just have to crack open a few windows across the house and turn on a fan in the hallway and it gets quite cool and doesn’t get too humid inside. It hit 110ºF (43ºC) today and it never got above 72ºF (22ºC) inside.
Overlord, if you’re lucky you’ll just be ruled over by monsters that treat Humans as “sheep” to be bred, sheared, & slaughtered. If not, you’ll be genocided by a cute little Elf, hee hee. Only hope is to find some way to be useful, and get converted into a monster.
So I tried watching Redo of Healer solely based on someone saying it was too disturbing to watch. As someone who doesn't normally enjoy any anime someone would describe that way, I still felt compelled to take the challenge.
The only thing I have previously watched that I'd call truly disturbing was Gantz - and that was awful, but still had a sort of "can't look away" vibe. (But once was enough.)
I made it a couple episodes into Redo of Healer and I'm not sure I can go on. The very first episode more or less shows you what happens to side characters (and sometimes main characters) in this world, and it's just chilling in the malevolence on display from the group in power. The protagonist is on a revenge arc, but despite what was done to him, he's immediately just as bad or worse than his tormentors were, so he's impossible to root for, and the story is centered around him.
I'm not at all certain I'll be finishing it, and nothing I've watched would be as awful for a side character. I'd rather be a common villager in Attack on Titan than any character at all, especially a side character, in Redo of Healer.
This would be amazing. Huge opportunity here but of course some of the highest moderation requirements of any community. Near the levels required for something like r/ask_historians
Income inequality would be lower in my ideal world. The income distribution should be more like the 50’s. A 4 day work week, and eradication of this “central business district” idea. There can still be offices for some people, but offices can be more geographically dispersed, with different sectors in different areas so half the city isn’t trying to get to one spot in the mornings, or leave that one spot in the evenings.
SEO takes loads of time. And since every instance is it’s own thing it takes more times to propogate this. I can only see a future where the most popular instances and communities are searchable in search engines. But I hope I’m wrong.
