What app do you use for Mastodon?

I've been wanting to check out Mastodon and a good app helps me be more engaged. My issue is that there are lots of interesting apps so I don't which one to pick! Which one do you like and why?

Android is preferred, but feel free to suggest iOS apps for others to use. Websites are also fine, but I'd like to install it as a PWA if possible.

Tusky is my current preference, but have tried Megalodon, Mastodon and Fedilab. I couldn't get with Fedilab, the font sizes in particular were never right.

Mammoth for iOS. I prefer it over Ivory which is crazy since I loved Tweetbot.

I use Ice Cubes on ios

runswithjedi,

Looks cool!

TechProfessor,

I find Moshidon and Fedilab to be the best on android and Mona and Trunks app on ios. On Linux I use Tuba and on Web I like multi column layout of Mastodeck.

I’ve been using Mona on iOS for a while now and I feel it’s the most feature filled app. It’s been great! Mona is also available for Mac!

TechProfessor,

Yes. The customisation possibilities of Mona are incredible. It’s my daily driver. I love the columned layout of Trunks app on iPad though.

JASN_DE,

Tusky works well for me on Android.

I like Tusky, but the web interface is pretty good on mobile too!

I’ve been an Ivory Stan for a while, lol. But ngl, I’m starting to get itchy since updates have slowed significantly. Other apps have gotten lots of other QOL features, or he’ll even some basic features, in a much quicker time. But I’ve paid for Ivory already, and don’t really want to pay for another.

My options are more limited too cuz it’s a requirement for there to be some sync to a desktop app. Not too many others that do that (Mona is the first that comes to mind that is in “second” place for me).

Came here to say the exact same thing

I’ve been using Metatext. I like the stats on trending topics

NotAnArdvark,

I find the mobile interface (the browser) to be really good, at least in comparison to Lemmy.

@runswithjedi I use Fedilab on Android and it works great. Very happy with it.

Tusky is best for those who are newer to Mastodon. Visually it's very clean, straightforward to use, and largely free of bugs (it helps to have been around for so many years).

For users more familiar with Mastodon, I'd go with Fedilab. Despite a few bugs, it's the most customizable option, with so many features you can tweak to your own tastes.

Fedilab and Tusky are quite good - the so-called official app lacks functions.

Toot! for iOS. It lets you add servers you don’t have an account on, and then you can interact easily on that server with any server’s account you’re logged into. I have 2-3 accounts based on different things I’m interested in so my followers don’t get a complete mishmash from me if they don’t want to, and this setup makes it so easy for me to interact and browse as if it’s all the same account.
