This must be a regional thing. In my area, most places like that run from 7-3:30. I did see a place that ran an area from 5-1:30, but that was specifically during the summer months to avoid the heat.
A friend of mine stopped their addiction by developing the habit of putting junk food in the freezer. The freezer makes it taste better but forces you to wait out the craving because it has to get cold.
Are you hungry or just bored and looking for extra stimulation while enjoying some entertainment? Have you considered a fidget toy or something to keep your hands occupied? A puzzle? Knitting? Chewing gum?
I just want you to consider one more aspect of it. I’ve seen this discussed and backed up with scientific articles but I’m too lazy to find and include them in my post. Basically, all your cravings originate from your gut and your gut is ruled by the bacteria that have made your gut their home over the years. You’ve colonized your gut with a particular set of bacteria by giving them what you eat.
Now, if you change that food pattern, these bacteria, that control the gut, will make your body release chemicals that will make you crave for food that will keep them alive. Realise this and act accordingly. Being conscious about it has helped me overcome many food related ‘addictions’ i had like that of soda, of wafers. I still fall prey when I consume sweets continuously for a few days during festivities. Everytime it is the same struggle against the cravings, but I realise I’m just fighting against the settlers in my gut, brave it for a few days and notice my cravings become dull over time. Probiotics like kimchi, saurkraut, kefir, kombucha etc. help to some extent but ultimately it is more of a mind game.
Make what you will from my advice, but it does work for me. I wish you all the best in your fight against your gut settlers.
My gf has been asking me repeatedly if I think she’s a cow.
I said no for about a month or so when I remembered what I’d told her not lokgn after we started dating: I’m just going to agree with anything negative you say about yourself until you stop saying it.
Responding with things like: yes, yes I do… or: MOOOOOOO. Or: yeah, a dn sexy cow, lemme see them milkers, seems to have put a stop to it quick. Or any of the self deprecating tracks she tends to get on.
It seems to be the only thing that gets her off these weird self de}reacting spirals for some reason
She kept on asking if she looked like a Teletubby for a while so I kept saying . “Tubby custard” at weird times and it stopped.
If this sounds mean, I’m very supportive and often compliment her )looks / accomplishments and she usually laughs when it happens. It’s not done with malice and we both laugh at it.
Get LinkedIn. I understand where you’re coming from. I don’t have any other social media either and I’ve gotten weird looks. Especially when it came from dating in the past with people trying to make sure you’re you, but having LinkedIn helped significantly. Also shows the maturity of having a social media account that can possibly help you in the long-run.
It uses activity pub, a protocol that allows servers to share content. So when you post on an instance, it became available for other instances to consume your content.
About slowness, it can be that your instance it being rate limited, or it is not powerful enough to process all its users. You can try another instance.
