I had trouble thinking up an original, funny name so I’ve just gone with “Lorem Ipsum” in the meantime

ButtonMcLemming, in As an adult, what seemingly childish things do you get excited about?
@ButtonMcLemming@lemmy.world avatar

Ice cream. Whether it is to calm myself down or to have a snack to enjoy, it is one of my favorite delicacies that I often am excited to eat.

tdawg, in Be honest: if you had the power to stop time, your morals would go out the window.

Finally some time to read

Decoy321,

I’ve spent a LOT of time listening on the youtube channel “My Analog Journal” too, a ton of great guests with awesome sets. My favorite this year is Psychedelic and Folk music from Britanny with Léna C

Eyyy, I had a little Altin Gün phase this year too

ETA: also wtf, someone showed my My Analogy Journal this spring and I spent weeks trying to remember what it was called.

Apparently I listen like I’m British and I’m not sure whether to take that as a compliment or an insult.

LongbottomLeaf,

Joey Bada$$ and Nas, very nice.

We moved into a very posh neighborhood and when hooking up our kit there was one that read, “Money cannot buy you class”.

My sister had me name the wi-fi extender as "Papa John's Pizza and Abortions". My mother's side of the family is Catholic. We're still waiting for one of them to notice it

Cymphoni_Fantastique, in As an adult, what seemingly childish things do you get excited about?

Rainbows, shiny things, stuff that smells good, really bright colors (a lady I work with sometimes wears magenta sweaters and they make me happy), gears, bells, and flowers. Off the top of my head, but there’s probably more.

otter, in whats your november wifi usage??

Something I’m also curious about (because of monopolies, we have the most expensive data in the world in Canada), how much does mobile data cost where you are? How much have you spent in total based on your usage?

I assume people have different habits in different parts of the world based on data prices

theKalash, (edited )

Switzerland: I pay 40 CHF ($45.75) for a unlimited data domestic + 30 GB/month in the EU (+25 other countries).

safesyrup,

Also in switzerland. I pay 10 CHF for unlimited domestic but no roaming. The roaming prices are very resaonable though if i ever need it

TheInsane42,
@TheInsane42@lemmy.world avatar

I have a small sim-only, 200 min/sms and 3000MB data a month. 2000 from the plan, 1000 because my wife has the same plan with the same provider. Now I’l limited to home I use about 20-30MB, my wife about the same. The plan is €7.50 a month. It’s the cheapest option with data here in the Netherlands.

deegeese, in Customs Officers: Have you ever laughed out loud when someone gave you their passport and they had an… unusual name?

Dikshit is a name you have to get used to saying with a straight face if you work with a bunch of Indians.

A talk show host in my country failed to keep a straight face over the name and lost his job. It’s okay though, we don’t miss him.

AnonTwo, in Be honest: if you had the power to stop time, your morals would go out the window.

I mean, it probably depends on how happy you are with your life.

Depending on how it works i'd probably just use time stop to lose less time from sleeping. There's a lot of ways to improve your life with time stop before ever delving into morals.

fenwickrysen,

What most people fail to realize, though, is that if you used time stop to sleep you would certainly have more productive hours “awake” – but at the cost of reducing your remaining life span in the time-wise world by one third. You’d still be aging while you sleep.

AnonTwo,

Though I don't think that's too big a loss when you're using it to sleep. If you used time stop for something that was both exhausting and wasting your time, that'd probably be worse honestly.

It would certainly become noticeable after awhile since as you said, it's one third of your life.
