bpm, in Lighthearted, upbeat shows for adults?

“Miracle Workers” hasn’t been mentioned yet, it has a similar vibe, romantic comedy, some mild philosophy, very upbeat. Each season is a different storyline with (almost) the same cast, so if the first season doesn’t grab you try the next. The creator had an earlier show “Man Seeking Woman” as well, that’s fun too.

dsemy, in What are your thoughts on people being doxxed for ripping down missing israeli posters?

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

0x4E4F,

I think this sums it up nicely.

anarchost,

The posters are propaganda. Nobody is going to find a missing Israeli child in the United States, which is where the posters were.

Removing propaganda that is being used as an excuse for genocide is a good thing, not exactly sure how you consider it stupid.

dsemy,

Good thing they were there to remove the posters of the kidnapped kids before those evil Jews could complete their genocide.

Seriously, the actions those people took literally had no effect apart from showing EXTREME disrespect to the families of those kids.

ghostdoggtv,

Tearing down posters sounds like a relatively civil response to putting up posters, unless you’d prefer things to keep escalating, which Israel does

anarchost,

Right now, the state of Israel is showing a grave disrespect to the families of the victims. They even planted fake victim families amongst the real ones, who were there exclusively to excuse the actions of the IDF.

And unlike random people that are getting doxxed, the state of Israel is being given billions of dollars to perpetuate a genocide

dsemy,

This is whataboutism.

The actions of the Israeli state do not excuse the actions of private individiuals against Israelis.

anarchost,

Except the Israeli state is actively killing people, and private individuals are not. Your concern is entirely misplaced.

anarchost,

  • __,

TL;dr - Did you actually just allege 'crisis actors' played victim's families? That's not just wholly unsupported, it's also wholly offensive to most people, and certainly to those who have connections to any of the victims.

First, let me state for the record that the entire situation is positively out of control - especially in light of the recent comments from one of Israel's minor ministers. I don't disagree that it appears to be headed towards full-blown genocide. I don't disagree that the folks being killed in Gaza are NOT the ones responsible for the attack, nor connected to the same. We are entirely on the same page there.

What I take exception to, however, is your absolutely unsupported statement regarding 'planted fake victim families.' First, because if one is going to make an allegation that inflammatory, one should ensure clarity. Who are you alleging is fake? The victims? Their families? Both?

I make light of the word choice and clarity, not just because it matters, but because I find it exceptionally unlikely that you could support any of the statements your words 'could' convey. When some asshole killed numerous children in a school, a certain subset of the population whined about 'crisis actors' for some years afterwards. I've heard similar allegations in reference to victims of Hurricane Katrina, and even in reference to Uvalde.

All of them are pure garbage, which places your allegation on exceptionally unsteady footing - In the improbable event that you are able to support that allegation, I'll happily hear out whatever evidence you're able to present.

Until then, there is no need to peddle conspiracy theories, too-vague allegations, etc.

I checked r/worldnews a few days ago and the comment is absolutely flooded with pro-israel and mainly support the disproportionate respond. Any anti-israel comment will either downvoted to hell or removed. I thought astro-turfing, but then i guess you don’t really need to get paid to defend something unethical.

Or maybe they’re israeli, there’s a lot of israeli enjoying the slaughter and even called it “Pallywood”, the term coined by conspiracy theorist in early 2000, arguing the Palestinian has been faking their death.

If you're young and it was done, it was for specific reasons (not all of which are valid).

But if you're older, say around 40+, it was done because that's what was done.

I’m in my mid 40’s so you can’t just group people together and just say “that’s the way it was”. It wasn’t for me and I’m in that age group.

All of them. If it exists I’m on there.

Remmock, in What MMOs are you all playing?

I’m holding off until the League of Legends MMO comes out.

ArgentRaven, in What MMOs are you all playing?

I was the same way. I quit WoW after WotLK, and started looking into it again about two years ago. Then I saw the bad reviews and how the story tanked. So I looked around at the other big ones, and FFXIV looked interesting. The story is kind of average until you get past level 50 stuff, but it gets really good. Shadowbringers is just a masterpiece. Easily as good as any other FF title you’ve played. I came for the graphics, and stayed for the lore. Compared to WoW, the graphics are great, that is.

The PvE is good, especially when you consider that you don’t need an alt. If you make it to level 60 and find you don’t like the class you picked, you can just start with a new job on your same character and continue. So you can pay all classes without going back to the newbie tutorial zones. Plus, you will “level sync” to old content. Making the level 20 dungeon worth running as a level 89. It’s not instantly forgotten, dead content.

PvP isn’t as good as WoW. It’s fun, and I do it daily, but there’s no rock paper scissors mechanics or supreme balance like back in the day in WoW.

I don’t feel like I’m on a treadmill, and I’m not pressured to log in every day or fall behind. I can play casually, take a break, and not feel like I’ve lost out. Some people are hardcore raiders, but those days are behind me.

I would never go back to WoW now. I like it better overall than I ever did running Molten Core, or Burning Crusade even. Which was pretty peak WoW, imo.

    Earthwormjim91,

No, Hamas is a fucking terrorist group that hasn’t allowed an election since they staged a coup in 2007. They kill civilians and use civilian infrastructure as military strongpoints.

zepheriths, in What's the significance of calling it "Israel-Hamas War" vs "Israel-Gaza War"?

Hamas is elected via a minority of Gaza as a result Hamas doesn’t act with the will of the majority and calling this the Israeli-Gaza war is disingenuous to the people of Gaza.

    Viper_NZ,

Hamas were elected in January 2006 and have refused new elections since.

    anarchost,

The average person in Gaza was somewhere between “way too young to vote” and “didn’t exist yet” the last time an election was held

    Psychodelic,

Isn’t Gaza losing more people to this so called war than either Hamas or Israel?

This feels like saying there was a fight between two people and not mentioning that the biggest fighter only seemed to really be attacking a third smaller, less-aged person for some odd reason.

    TylerDurdenJunior,

And as half the population of Gaza is under 18, they for sure didn’t vote for them.

On top of that, Nethanyahu has greatly supported Hamas and sabotaged moderate political alternatives
