Uh, Lemmy isn’t really big on memes (except over at c/Risa on startrek.website — their Star Trek meme game is on point!), so the old memes are partly satire for those of us that are older than memes and mostly make fun of them. With old memes. It’s complicated.
I missed all the games between Platinum and Sword so I found a lot of it fairly challenging* at first even if the game is a straight line. My favorite part was Pokemon that previously needed to be traded to obtain could be found in the game.
*no battle items, battle type set, no legendaries, pokemon must be similar or lower level to gym as my rule set
That straight line thing really frustrated me, one of the things that I loved about Pokémon as a kid was going one route, noticing somewhere I can’t get to due to lack of HM then exploring the map again much later discovering all these little secrets. It made the world feel just that little bit more like there’s still something to discover.
Wow that’s pretty generous of your employer. What industry are you in if you don’t mind sharing? Just curious as I’ve never heard of a company that is willing to shoulder a year’s worth of salary for their employee to do something else.
He is a visionary, he just wants things to happen and we’re left standing around trying to figure out how to make it work.
We’re a siding construction company. I don’t know if I’m allowed to share it on the site here. But I can send you a link to who we are what what we’re planning to do next year.
When I started here that was a huge selling point for me. They told me about this year off to do community service and I was like, that’s beyond crazy. But as we talked about it each week and started seeing the numbers add up, it’s insane how easy it is to make it happen.
Yeah, I might be to blame for some of that shit. I started !antiquememesroadshow a few months ago, then it blew up and started covering c/all, then it spread like herpes to the other meme communities.
There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism. Like others said, name companies that deserve business because I don’t know how to avoid the ones that don’t. Name someone who doesn’t go to(off the top of my head without googling): Chick-fil-A, Amazon, Target, Walmart, Kroger, any gas station, Nestle…any giant corpo that owns a dozen others. We can pretend boycotting works so we can feel better about having a moral high ground over other exploited workers or we can massacre the billionaire ruling class.
While I agree with the general notion of this, there are still companies that are considerably worse than others. Choosing the lesser evil is still something that would overall help society and the planet.
If you look closely, they are the three largest “car” manufacturers in North America.
I have something against lobbying for creating the word “jaywalking”, destruction of historical black neighborhoods, and the SUV/pickup truck epidemic caused by their lobbying for reduced emission requirements on “light trucks”.
I guess you could also add Tesla to the mix, since they’re making such a big deal of their cyber truck.
What I meant is that while foreign companies are profiting from these laws, it is the American car makers that lobbied for them. I also don’t really care for any car company, but if I were to boycott car manufacturers, I would start with the American ones.
Maybe I am mistaken, but aren’t “new memes” people reposting their twitter crap and hoping for better luck? The AI memes are getting pretty good, if those are what counts as new memes and what I think new memes are are actually older then idk.
I’m still salty they removed the base building from BD/SP, it made the underground feel more personal/less grindy than what we got (and the fact that they didn’t include the platinum e extra content in the remakes)
