Teknikal, in What chromium based browser do you recommend and why?

I don’t use one but I did watch a YouTube video yesterday praising one called thorium. I might give it a try myself out of curiosity.

weariedfae, in What is your favourite floor cleaner liquid and why?

To be honest I was lazy at my old place and just used a wet Swiffer. I feel bad about it because I know that ain’t clean.

Previously I used pine sol and hot water, or just dish soap and hot water on linoleum floors. Growing up we didn’t have a mop so we just used rags and scrubbed by hand.

Gallardo994, in Lemmy, recommend me a good budget Android phone please

A general rule of thumb is to get a year or two old flagship instead of a budget new one. One can usually find a great deal on something like S21 Ultra or similar.

bitsplease,

100% - also try and budget to get the battery replaced with this method though, most modern smartphone batteries start showing significant wear after 2 years

SurpriZe,

What’s the best way to find actually good flagships of the past? I mean, to learn of which model was good.

hunt4peas,

Read reviews in GSMArena.

hemko, in Have you read the Unabombers manifesto?

Yeah sure you can find good takes in isolation from many texts, but you can’t really take them in isolation. Think of intentionally quoting something from Mein Kampf because “it resonated with you”

For example, the following:

Godess of peace can walk only in the company of god of war and that every great act of peace must be protected and assisted by force

I’d think most people would agree with that but no one in their right mind would use those exact words quoting one of the worst man in history of mankind nor suggest “Hitler kinda has a point”

Synthead, in Lemmy, recommend me a good budget Android phone please

OnePlus is typically a great value.

kool_newt, in What is the name for the feeling of nostalgia, loneliness, eeriness and liminality that comes when listening to songs like subwoofer lullaby?

Idk but I get what you mean

Today, in What is your favourite floor cleaner liquid and why?

I’ve been using zep, but i just ordered floor science from Amazon. I have stained concrete floors downstairs. I use Bona on the wood upstairs.

I don't think the English language has a single word for it because it encompasses bits of different emotions. The closest single one I could think of might be "bittersweet".

Eufalconimorph, in What is your favourite floor cleaner liquid and why?

Murphy’s Oil Soap for wood floors.

8bitguy,

Because it works well and smells absolutely amazing.

Octopus1348, in What chromium based browser do you recommend and why?

Just native Chromium, or if you don’t want any Google stuff, Ungoogled Chromium. They both use the same UI as Google Chrome. I recommend these because they have no such bloat, and if you want a chromium-based browser for rare usage, it does it’s thing.

On an unrelated note, I use GNOME Web on Linux and Safari on macOS (they are both based on WebKit). GNOME Web has some problems, but I can’t give up the animation of two finger scrolling between pages and smooth scrolling on touchpad. I use Firefox as a fallback browser on Linux, because I have never really needed something that is specifically Chromium.

I’m not sure if there’s a name for the feeling, but often, the reason we feel that way about certain pieces of music is because they feature minor keys instead of major keys.

Major keys = happy Minor keys = sad

That said, I don’t think either of your examples are in minor keys.

In other Minecraft music news, this is pretty great.

I currently use a ZTE Blade V Smart/ZTE 2050, which cost me 150€, pretty cheap, but still very usable (bought it a few years ago so that exact model isn’t worth it anymore, I had generally not absolutely terrible experience with ZTE phones before, tho). I also have a newer phone that I don’t use for no reason, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, which cost me 200€.

YungOnions, in What chromium based browser do you recommend and why?

I switched to Thorium browser, seems pretty good. There’s also Tempest Browser which is still in Beta, but is a bit like Brave but without the Crypto and some other features. I recommend Thorium, tbh. Seems to work well and has a lot of performance patches added, as well as security. More here: youtu.be/naDYUVFs1-8?si=eC1CtA4q-oF1L8ix

I have carpet so the only cleaner I keep for regular everyday stuff with that is Resolve. If it’s bad enough, I rent a Rug Doctor.

For the bathroom and kitchen, I just use a wet cloth with hot water and soap to do it by hand because they’re fuckin’ tiny. Owning a mop doesn’t seem justified.

DerpyPoint, in What would you rather eat a poop flavored chocolate, or chocolate flavored poop?
@DerpyPoint@lemmy.world avatar

Definitely chocolate because poop is full of germs

ivanafterall,
@ivanafterall@kbin.social avatar

Not my poop.
