I bought the ultra/whatever when it first came out. Same justification as others who have purchased it. I use it for hours a day and i used it on reddit. I love the similar feel and the dev is amazing. Worth the money in my eyes but i can appreciate the people that use the free and ad block. You do you
Sometimes I use reddit too, and I swear to god the mobile app is so filled with bugs left and right that haven’t been fixed for years. It’s hard to tolerate. Reddit is best in web searches, because there are many relevant discussions. But I’m so glad kagi added a fediverse lens so I can also search Lemmy as I do reddit for relevant discussions. They also have a forum lens and a discussion search mode which is so useful because it searches many other forums and it helps filter out all those useless listicles, websites that copy others and other websites that contain keywords to popular issues just to get traffic.
I pay for the services and apps I care for and I still want to be up, developers need to eat and for the huge corporate bullshit I don’t give a shit about I have adblockers such as DNS66.
I have said it before, but it is worth repeating, if you want to transfer a large file over the internet between two persons, Bit Torrent is still a good solution.
You obviously need to encrypt the data before sending it, but 7zip should sort that out for you, you then just create a torrent and send the torrent file over, and seed the torrent until completion.
As long as the file is securely encrypted and both sides terminate the torrent as soon as the intended recipient has the file, the risk of data leakage is minimal.
The world is invaded by day walker vampires somehow. Most of the human population is dead or turned, those remaining live under a cloud of distrust and paranoia - anyone could be a vampire. even the people you know could’ve been turned since you last saw them.
I don’t notice. Because of social anxiety, I stayed indoors.
There are windmills all over the place here and I love seeing them. To me this is what the future should look like. Poeple have used windmills for centuries, why stop now?
I love Tidal + Plex. I already had a Plex server set up, but the integration with tidal is great. Good music quality, pays the artists well, and no gaps in the library that aren’t also there in the other services. When you add Plex you can then fill in those gaps with your own music files.
I’ve recently started hosting my music on Jellyfin and using the symfonium app for android. Symfonium is pretty nice and handles offline files well, plus it has a ton of hosting options including Plex, even some experimental options like dropbox
Often there is a small company based in the us that has real reviews because they have used the things. ThingYouWant.com or some variation. They don't have everything, but they have a good selection ofithat one thitg for prices not much worse than amazon - and useful advice about what is quality. Find and support them.
