eran_morad, in Do You Have a Fire Extinguisher in Your Home and is it Still Pressurized?

Thanks for the reminder.

No problem, gotta live up to my name a look out for people.

Dashi, in Is Sync for Android worth the cost?

I bought the ultra/whatever when it first came out. Same justification as others who have purchased it. I use it for hours a day and i used it on reddit. I love the similar feel and the dev is amazing. Worth the money in my eyes but i can appreciate the people that use the free and ad block. You do you

TheFrirish,

The dev is amazing! lemme just pay 20$ for a sporadic update cycle and the same features as most other free and open source alternatives /s

MonsterMonster, in Am I the only one who wishes North Korea would build Terminators?

10 year old Troll who’s stayed up too late.

Unlearned9545, in What is the least shit online store of the shitty ones? such as: Wish, AliExpress, etc..

I’ve had good experience with aliexpress. Nearing 1000 products purchased.

OceanSoap, in Is Sync for Android worth the cost?

I love sync. I still visit reddit for a few communities, but only on my laptop, never my phone.

MashedTech,

Sometimes I use reddit too, and I swear to god the mobile app is so filled with bugs left and right that haven’t been fixed for years. It’s hard to tolerate. Reddit is best in web searches, because there are many relevant discussions. But I’m so glad kagi added a fediverse lens so I can also search Lemmy as I do reddit for relevant discussions. They also have a forum lens and a discussion search mode which is so useful because it searches many other forums and it helps filter out all those useless listicles, websites that copy others and other websites that contain keywords to popular issues just to get traffic.

Tier1BuildABear, in Is Sync for Android worth the cost?
@Tier1BuildABear@lemmy.world avatar

ADBLOCK YOUR DNS. Seriously surprised how many free users see ads with sync lol, how do you guys live with so many ads on your phone

blazeknave,

I have adblock on my phone. Need to setup pihole again.

allroy,

not an app. you’ve got your dns set to use dns.adguard.com?

MashedTech,

I pay for the services and apps I care for and I still want to be up, developers need to eat and for the huge corporate bullshit I don’t give a shit about I have adblockers such as DNS66.

Tier1BuildABear,
@Tier1BuildABear@lemmy.world avatar

I need to eat too, and I don’t like ads lmao. Maybe the premium version should be worth buying.

spittingimage, in What makes something a Luxury?
@spittingimage@lemmy.world avatar

You could do the job with less, but you’d grumble about it.

I think the shower in my current house is luxurious because it’s large enough that I can turn around without knocking things off the shower caddy.

stoy, in Do you know any file hosting sites with a good privacy policy?

I have said it before, but it is worth repeating, if you want to transfer a large file over the internet between two persons, Bit Torrent is still a good solution.

You obviously need to encrypt the data before sending it, but 7zip should sort that out for you, you then just create a torrent and send the torrent file over, and seed the torrent until completion.

As long as the file is securely encrypted and both sides terminate the torrent as soon as the intended recipient has the file, the risk of data leakage is minimal.

MashedTech,

You don’t even need a tracker if the torrent client has the ability to do so.

stoy,

Oh yeah, magnet links exists

Gamoc, in Your greatest weakness becomes your greatest strength. How is your life different?

The world is invaded by day walker vampires somehow. Most of the human population is dead or turned, those remaining live under a cloud of distrust and paranoia - anyone could be a vampire. even the people you know could’ve been turned since you last saw them.

I don’t notice. Because of social anxiety, I stayed indoors.

FollyDolly, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?
@FollyDolly@lemmy.world avatar

There are windmills all over the place here and I love seeing them. To me this is what the future should look like. Poeple have used windmills for centuries, why stop now?

PonyOfWar, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

No, I like them. They bring some variety to landscapes. Many people here hate them though.

eric, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

No

Demonmariner, in what is a parental advice you wish you could give to your father/mother before they had you?

I’m going to be a challenge. Please be patient with me, and with each other.

raptir, in What's the best music streaming service?

I love Tidal + Plex. I already had a Plex server set up, but the integration with tidal is great. Good music quality, pays the artists well, and no gaps in the library that aren’t also there in the other services. When you add Plex you can then fill in those gaps with your own music files.

Sasha,

I’ve recently started hosting my music on Jellyfin and using the symfonium app for android. Symfonium is pretty nice and handles offline files well, plus it has a ton of hosting options including Plex, even some experimental options like dropbox

bluGill, in What is the least shit online store of the shitty ones? such as: Wish, AliExpress, etc..

Often there is a small company based in the us that has real reviews because they have used the things. ThingYouWant.com or some variation. They don't have everything, but they have a good selection ofithat one thitg for prices not much worse than amazon - and useful advice about what is quality. Find and support them.
