Hobart_the_GoKart, in What is the name for the feeling of nostalgia, loneliness, eeriness and liminality that comes when listening to songs like subwoofer lullaby?

The Minecraft piece always reminded me of Eric Satie’s Gymnopédie #1 youtu.be/TL0xzp4zzBE?si=-w9omSS-Xn_tnsZB

I’m certain you’ve heard it before. You may find the Wikipedia page on the compositions interesting en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnopédies?wprov=sfla1

Anyway, I think the word you’re looking for is melancholy.

mrbubblesort, in What would you rather eat a poop flavored chocolate, or chocolate flavored poop?
@mrbubblesort@kbin.social avatar

So I've have the cat poop coffee (Kopi Luwak) before and it was absolutely revolting, tasted nothing like coffee. So probably poop flavored chocolate is the way to go.

Kolanaki, in What is your favourite floor cleaner liquid and why?
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

I have carpet so the only cleaner I keep for regular everyday stuff with that is Resolve. If it’s bad enough, I rent a Rug Doctor.

For the bathroom and kitchen, I just use a wet cloth with hot water and soap to do it by hand because they’re fuckin’ tiny. Owning a mop doesn’t seem justified.

Eufalconimorph, in What is your favourite floor cleaner liquid and why?

Murphy’s Oil Soap for wood floors.

8bitguy,

Because it works well and smells absolutely amazing.

weariedfae, in What is your favourite floor cleaner liquid and why?

To be honest I was lazy at my old place and just used a wet Swiffer. I feel bad about it because I know that ain’t clean.

Previously I used pine sol and hot water, or just dish soap and hot water on linoleum floors. Growing up we didn’t have a mop so we just used rags and scrubbed by hand.

tygerprints, in What is the name for the feeling of nostalgia, loneliness, eeriness and liminality that comes when listening to songs like subwoofer lullaby?

Sort of a vibrant or vivid melancholy, maybe? Some songs by certain groups do that to me also - that song, "remind me" by royksopp always brings on those feelings. I think that listening to music makes you feel like everything in your body is opening up a little, loosening and relaxing and decompressing.

Presi300, in What chromium based browser do you recommend and why?

For chromium, brave, though I’d just stick to Firefox it I were you

orcrist, in Why do most people not post?

Is there anything about your question that is specific to Lemmy? If you’re just asking in general then I think it’s been answered long ago and a web search would give you more than enough information.

@orcrist It's more to do with Lemmy / Kbin / Mbin it seems like most people don't like to post.

Open_Mike, in Why do most people not post?

I'm on Artemis on Android. It doesn't appear to be possible.

When it is I might share my goat videos. In the mean time, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCucYNmlqU-O1npt002LXVTA

AnokLola, in What chromium based browser do you recommend and why?

Thorium, because its fast, lightweight and open-source.

Fast? I wonder which security features they cut out of it.

Narrrz, in next to groggyness, is there an additional reason to take SSRI's in the evening?

I started taking mine in the morning because the boost they give your brain can make your dreams unusually intense, resulting in less sleep or worse quality.

Just disable the crap and keep using Brave.

jiriks74, in Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

The History channels:

It’s really good long form fomat. You don’t have to watch anything and just listen. It’s long enough for me to fall asleep and not hear the whole video so next night I just go close enough to the end of what I heard/remember I heard and just continue listening. I don’t mind relistening at all - I always miss something so I always learn something new.

Edit: the awesome thing is that these videos are told basically like a story. The narrator’s voice is calming, there are no loud noises or anything. He really tells it like a good night story.

jiriks74,

I find the Universe one the best one for me. The one for Humankind or Earth can be unsettling sometimes (mostly the intros in my experience) but I don’t have problems with uncomfortable dreams really so I don’t mind. But from my experience if there’s something that could give you a bad dream it’s only in the into.

Daedskin, in Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

Purge (youtube.com/) is pretty good. He typically posts full, un-cut dota games, and is lower energy throughout. There’s not big volume or tone changes, and they’re long enough that you should always be able to fall asleep during them.

pastermil, in next to groggyness, is there an additional reason to take SSRI's in the evening?

Should you really be asking this here?
