Works for me. Make sure you scribble on the M while you’re over it.

Mango,

Is that a thing? I’ve noticed better results with some words when I make sure I make a hard turn or pause on a letter.

Kind of funny because there’s bound to be lots of tech people here

HowRu68, (edited ) in Is there a word for the feeling of nostalgia for or missing of another lifetime one only lived in a dream?

The best word I’ve heard that covers that, is the Portuguese " Saudade "; especially because it’s ingrained in the culture ( e.g. Fado) .same for Brazil ofc.

Nibodhika,

Nope Saudade is just the feeling of nostalgia, for some reason someone convinced foreigners and some Brazilians that it’s special or somehow different from nostalgia. And it caught because mostly we don’t use nostalgia to refer to people, so in most people’s mind they’re somewhat different but it’s just because of common use. Any phrase that Portuguese uses saudades can be replaced with missing in english without losing any meaning, e.g. Tenho saudades do meu cachorro -> I miss my dog.

It’s got a name that doesn’t intuitively indicate its role.

And it has a substantial population as the Fediverse goes.

  • ani,

Are you that naive? Why are you defending Google anyway? Google most definitely has a backdoor filter to block FOSS and communist apps like Lemmy and fediverse in general. I also tested Gboard and I can’t gesture type Lemmy. This is proof Google is doing some shenanigans. And I challenge you to try it yourself, stop shilling Google dude!

d4rknusw1ld, in Which carbonated soft drink is the best?

    Wild Cherry Pepsi all day.

First, determine the state of the planet 50 years from now. This will largely dictate my next set of questions.

Is the earth on fire? Is there rampant suffering? What was the biggest catastrophe to mankind in that time?

Did humanity actually do something to help the earth? Once I learn this, I can invest in that thing to simultaneously push that technology forward and benefit from it myself.

Is any single person held responsible for bad things that have happened? Unlikely, but if so, I would work on assassinating that person.
