    Man this is like my biggest fear. Imagine you slip and fall in the water in front of all those people, and they all laugh at you and then you have to climb back up and go to work soaking wet, and everyone at work knows you fell in because why else would you be soaking wet,

    Yeah I don’t think people would all laugh, they would help you get back on the chairs as they fear being cold from wet clothes themselves. Those are likely people of all ages.

    Oh, it's a common joke both in France and abroad that Parisians are terribly unfriendly.

    the British War Office requested that the American government design a purpose-built airborne light tank which could be transported by glider into battle to support British airborne forces

    it could be transported underneath a Douglas C-54 Skymaster transport aircraft, although its dimensions also allowed it to fit inside a General Aircraft Hamilcar glider.

    In 1974, the last prototype was discovered abandoned in a field at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Camouflaged in the middle of some bushes, it is unknown where it spent the intervening 27 years.

    I’ve never worn a Brodie helmet but many have your actual head slightly below the top. This allows for some crumble zone.

    You can kind of sympathise with the antivaxxers of that time. It’s fucking 120 years ago. Medicine was still not very advanced and neither was education for the masses.

    However, in 2024 people should be somewhat wiser.
