Lemmy Ansible 1.3.0 (Lemmy v0.19.0) update dramatically reduced performance of instance

I made the huge mistake of upgrading on the same day of the new release. I had copied my inventory folder to a new pull of lemmy-ansible, checked out 1.3.0, and ran it with no errors. But refreshing the took a very long time to load. The closest issue I found was at github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/4244 but that’s a deep dive...

Can lemmy users see when they're mentioned in a microblog post from kbin? (kbin.social)

I'm trying to contact a user on lemmy, but can't dm them (it's not clear to me if this is a bug or if dms don't work across instances or software, but either way it's not working). My next workaround would be to ping them in a microblog post, but lemmy doesn't have a microblog section. Would a lemmy user receive a notification...

communities: trouble with blocking users making posts you can't see?

How do you block a lemmy account from your community, when they’re on an instance your mod account can’t see??? There’s someone spamming my community from k.bin, but the posts aren’t showing up on sh.itjust.works so I’m not sure how to delete the posts or even block the account. Can someone help please?

Had to reinstall Lemmy - did I break federation?

I’m wondering if this post will even go through**. Long story short, I had to rebuild my Lemmy instance without importing the old data. I manually recreated my account (Knova@links.dartboard.social) and was able to subscribe to communities (although everything says “subscription pending”*). But it doesn’t seem like my...

Federation broke on my instance

So, I run my own instance (dandroid.app), and as of about 10 days ago, all outgoing federation stopped working. Incoming federation still seems to work fine. I’m not sure exactly what changed. It was around the time that I set up pihole on my network, but I have since shut down pihole and federation has not resumed. I have...

How to clear cache or make some space available for my instance?

My Lemmy instance has reached 100% storage so I can no longer use it. Is there a safe way I can clear cache or make some more space available without upgrading the disk space? I set up the instance with the ansible script many months ago and migrating to object storage seems to be a decent amount of work I don’t have to commit...
