Is that you, Spez?

As it turns out, it only happens if I open lemmy from hyperlink on my custom startpage (local file).

tree, in Anyway to turn off or control the comment highlighting in 0.19?

It’s a bug in the dark theme CSS. On the light theme it’s a much more subtle highlight.

ech,

Ah, that makes some sense. Would still like more control over if it appears at all, but I’m glad to know it’s at least not intentionally that glaring.

By any chance, have you set database.pool_size in lemmy.hjson? You could try increasing the number to see if it improves performance

The lemmy frontend will come up fast, but you would see an error and a popup telling you that lemmy is still starting. If you can see content, then the DB migration is finished already. The 1.3.0 branch of ansible doesn’t have any changes which would cause performance impact. Currently it just adjusts the readme and adds pictrs 0.4.7.

There’s Lemmy 0.19.0’s persistent federation queue which brings a much higher database load, this could be why OP reports reduced performance.

Yes, but those changes are not unique to the ansible 1.3.0 deployment

TheGreenGolem, in Seeing read-posts despite "show read posts" being un checked

It’s the same for me. I’ve already cleared the cache in FF and for Jerboa too. Tried to log out and log in. Tried to turn off and on the feature again to no avail. It’s the same on all of the instances where I have registration and migrated to 0.19.

Have you tried logging off and then back on? I had issues on my end after a server update and that fixed it.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Kind of. 0.19 update logged me out of everything. So, it’s a fresh login.

Unless you backed up you database right before the upgrade, I don’t think you can downgrade as the database schema has been migrated while upgrading to Lemmy 0.19.0.

The downtime mentioned in the README is the database migration, which can take quite some time on some instances (it took 5-10 minutes on mine).

Oha, in Anyway to turn off or control the comment highlighting in 0.19?

same. what is it even highliting?

ech, (edited )

As far as I can tell it’s comments made within the last 510(?) minutes or so.

JakenVeina, in Seeing read-posts despite "show read posts" being un checked

Same. Confirmed through both Jerboa and the web UI.

You’d just be able to get around that using the API

Your best bet is just making a new account and integrating better. We don’t do that ‘chemtrail’ shit.

If you’re actually based and comradely; and that chemtrail shit was just a badly-thought-out bit, then… That should be the end of it, and no one would ever know. If “right-conspiratorial” is how you actually are, it’ll be sussed out and handled.

RotatingParts, in Account being verified since >1month on Jerboa

I have the same problem with Jerboa, yet if I accesses Lemmy through a web page, my account is fine. I installed Eternity on the phone and my Lemmy account has no problems on that app. Another data point that this is probably a Jerboa issue.

velox_vulnus, (edited ) in Request for a ban appeal in "lemmygrad.ml"

Here’s the reason why you were banned (open this on a browser).

You’re spreading a bunch of low-grade conspiracy nonsense related to climate geo-engineering - something about chemtrail (this is the first time I am hearing about this weird conspiracy, so I do not know the exact depth and width of what other nonsense you might believe in).

Any mod would want to do their due diligence to not make their users look like a bunch of lunatics. In my opinion, they have done their job properly. Misinformation is at it’s highest, you need to learn to verify your sources first.

You can appeal for an account restoration in the Matrix server, but is it worth the effort? Just make a new account, and don’t repeat the conspiracy shenanigans.

neidu,

I’m afraid that ship sailed long before OP entered the chat.

This you?

Fedditor running their mouth on both shit they ‘can’t define’ that has EXTREMELY obvious definitions, and then talking out the side of their neck about people they’ve clearly never done any actual research into. 🙄 That scans more than it should.

neidu, (edited )

Yes, that’s me asking a question in good faith in an attempt at clarify a definition for something of which I may have had an outdated one. It’s called growth. You should look it up.

If you have to genuinely ask what’s blackface and what isn’t, I strongly doubt your bonafides as to “good faith”. Fedditor talm bout “growth”, that’s funnier than a fuck in a clown car
