In the United Kingdom, from 1986 to 2015, more than 184,000 cattle were diagnosed with the peak of new cases occurring in 1993. From en.wikipedia.org/…/Bovine_spongiform_encephalopat… I don’t know if that affected Ireland, or whether Ireland was importing British beef, but I don’t think I’d eat that even if it smelled good, and I wouldn’t give it to my dog either
