Yes. Linux is good enough for everyone, whether they like it or not. :)

I would like to create my first ublue spin as there only is Fedora Sericea currently

Have you looked at Hyprgreen? It should be exactly what you’re after.

Pantherina,

Oh noooo, so I have a useless project now? But I guess I will just copy what I need and make it my own.

Thanks!

bbbhltz, in recommendations for lightweight window managers for an old netbook
@bbbhltz@beehaw.org avatar

Just a window manager? Not a DE?

Under X11 there is Openbox, bspwm, herbstluftwm, dwm, i3, Awesome, Ratpoison, spectrwm, Qtile, …

Under Wayland: Weston, LabWC, Wayfire, Sway, River, Cagebreak, dwl, …

I keep things pretty dull and use Openbox + LXQt. It is a stacking WM that is stable, and LXQt is snappy.

If you are looking for a light DE LXQt is very light, Plasma is lighter than it used to be, but it also has loads of features. Xfce has more options for configuration than LXQt and I think it isn’t quite ready for Wayland.

Maybe Sway would be up your alley?

Probably LXQt or MATE

NOOBMASTER, in (solved) I can't get my linux system to run properly

I would recommend Zorin OS, but honestly, anything goes, as long as you can get it running properly. No harm in trying another distro if the current doesn’t function well.

Leugi,

I have installed zorin on another pc and it worked okay, but I wanted to try kde for the customization as well. I will probably try fedora kionite next and if that doesn’t work i don’t know.

Wished they dropped this on the 13th 👀

priapus, in Is linux good for someone tech illererate.

The hardest part will probably be the installation, but if you can follow a youtube guide you’ll be fine. Go for a distro like PopOS or Fedora that have polished out of the box experiences.

Thanks. Also have to say, priapus used to be my account name across all social media for a while lol.

priapus,

Haha, thats a fun coincidence. At some point Priapus became my go to for accounts I didn’t want connected to my main online name.

korbel, in (solved) I can't get my linux system to run properly

Not sure about the opi method but I installed an opensuse tw recently with same nvidia/ryzen config and everything works just fine.

Enabled nvidia and packman essentials in yast and replaced the system packages. That’s option 3 here.

We’ll wait until 7.7.7 so all of the religious folk switch to linux
