Drito, (edited ) in are tiling WM good only for terminal?

I can’t use something else than bspwm.

kpw, in are tiling WM good only for terminal?

Yes. It's a window manager, not tmux.

silverdiamond, in As a normal, boring user that does nothing special other than browse the internet and the occasional "casual coding" -- what am I supposed to do with 32GiB of ram?

you can disable paging (swap) i guess apart from launching more things at the same time and letting apps know you have ram for them to cache shit (check app settings some apps do have a how much ram should we use slider like okular the kde pdf viewer) and virtualisation of multiple os’s i can’t think of much

    I guess it’s because some people like consistency and not rapid changes. X may be because of NoVideo users.

    optimal, in Is there any future for the GTK-based Desktop Environments?
    @optimal@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

    GNOME isn’t based around GTK, it uses a fork of Clutter that now lives inside of Mutter.

    Nice! What graphics card do you have? AMD generally works well out-of-the-box, but if you have NVidia you may need to install drivers

    Corr,

    It is an nvidia card, but I did manage to install the drivers and they seem to be working great.

    neonred, in Firefox Sidebar Addon like Brave or Vivaldi?

    addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sidebery/

    I use Sidebery and am content with it so far.

    savvywolf, in Stat command shows birth *after* modify time?
    @savvywolf@pawb.social avatar

    I don’t know what exact situation could have happened here but I imagine a copy could have also copied the metadata into a new file. So it creates a new file as the destination (setting the birth date), then as part of copying the file it copied the access and modify times.

    Pixel, in What are you most excited when it comes to linux in 2024?

    Bcachefs, love COW files. I wish all file systems had it even if it naively copied the whole file on first write. Sort of a write safe hard link.

    LinuxSBC, (edited ) in December Updates: The Spirit of COSMIC
