hersh, in Bunnies - a community for bunny/rabbit enthusiasts and owners
match, in Sockpuppet Society - An original Lemmy community for sockpuppeting (reenact real life events with socks, etc.)

I’m interested but I don’t quite understand it yet - like an RP community except doing news?

otter,

It doesn’t have to be current news, I was thinking any events might work

I’m also trying to keep this open to see if it affects community growth, open to seeing what people want to do

Franzia, in Feminine Boys - A text based SFW community for discussion on the Femboy experience

Power to ya and I know I wish I had a place like this when I was a teen. I hope this place is a very very safe place, with thorough and trustworthy moderators. Knowing Blahaj.zone, I think it will be.

luthis, in Feminine Boys - A text based SFW community for discussion on the Femboy experience

“Specifically no calling people eggs, also known informally as egging.”

What the hell is egging??

FirstMajesticComet, (edited )
@FirstMajesticComet@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Ok yeah, I worded it a bit badly, I edited the text so it’s hopefully more clear.

No Invalidation Gender Identity. Specifically no calling people eggs, also known informally as egging, which is trying to insist that a femboy (or any other GNC person) must be trans due to being GNC

Basically it’s saying they must be a girl (trans) because they dress like one. Was a popular thing to do in r/Egg_irl a while back (at the expense of the femboys featured) which is where the term egg came from and why it became known as ‘egging’.

SaakoPaahtaa,

So what is egg and more over what is gnc?

luthis,

trying to insist that a femboy (or any other GNC person) must be trans

luthis,

GNC person

Gender non-conforming.

Egg - a transgender person that has yet to come out of their "shell".

When a person first makes the realization that they might be transgender, it's referred to as "cracking your egg" in the trans community.

Also, in popular culture it's commonplace to say that a person who is in denial is "putting up walls", so an egg is like a type of wall that completely surrounds you. Cracking your egg involves tearing down those walls.

Mr_Blott, in Yorkshire - Feddit UK - back from deletion

What happened, the original creator got their first electric bill? 😂😂

Emperor,
@Emperor@feddit.uk avatar

Not everyone from Yorkshire is like that, I presume.

Rolando, in Yorkshire - Feddit UK - back from deletion

Wait, if a creator deletes their account, then their communities are deleted?

That’s kind of alarming for communities with absent mods. They could come back at any time just to leave.

Emperor,
@Emperor@feddit.uk avatar

Pretty much. There’s currently no mechanism to stop the creator of a community from deleting it and no way to get it or the posts back.

It has come up on GitHub where concern was raised.

Rolando,

aaah! hm… do you happen to know if it’s possible for the server admin to change the owner of a community?

Emperor,
@Emperor@feddit.uk avatar

Yes they can, I’ve done it a few times. It’s also possible for the creator of a community to transfer it to another Mod and leave the community (I’ve done it that way a couple of times too).

Lophostemon, in !newtolemmy - A community to welcome and help new users

Mbourgon, in Don't dead, open inside - poorly aligned words and letters.

There’s one already like this, unsure if having the same name as That Other Site’s is better or worse, and it appears dead? !yelldowlgyel

FQQD,

Yeah, I thought there probably already is one, but i didnt find it because of the different name

VentraSqwal, in Korean Food, a community for discussing all things related to Korean Cuisine!

I always love seeing more communities and I like that you added related ones!

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Thank you. I myself mod https://lemmy.world/c/koreanfood, https://lemmy.world/c/recipes, and https://lemmy.world/c/sousvide. I’ve been working on getting all the food/cooking communities working together as well for promotion and engagement.

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

To be honest, I’m adopting this view more and more now that the world turns into a dystopian nightmare.

I don’t think kids being born now has a high chance of being happy with big tech running the world.

Annoyed_Crabby, in Dragon's Dogma - A community related to, well, Dragon's Dogma

They’re masterworks all, you can’t go wrong.

Szwajcer,

The magnificent people who join the community are, that’s true

reef, in "Recipes" is now "Recipes and Cooking Tips"!
@reef@lemmy.ca avatar

This sounds like a positive change, but what I appreciate more is that your team is thinking about these things :)

canthidium,
@canthidium@lemmy.world avatar

Thank you. We’re always discussing ways to try to grow our community and Lemmy itself. And we try to involve the users as much as possible. I believe it’s their community and they should have a say in what happens to it.
