their domain seems to have been hijacked by a disgruntled former staff member who deliberately ruined the site. maybe you could add the site back? it was quite a useful resource.
That’s awesome! Honestly, the move away from Reddit is probably the best thing that could happen to our community. r/Piracy was always a few DMCAs away from not existing anymore. I’m not super familiar with how Lemmy works under the hood, but from what little I do understand, I think we’re probably safer here.
This could not be any funnier. Please reddit, take legal control of the piracy subreddit, right as you take the experienced mod team out. I’m sure everything will go fantastic.
Haha what the fuck I really did NOT think they would do that to r/piracy of all things. Ah well fuck them and their shitty IPO. I‘m here with you guys for good, the structure of the fediverse suits our purposes and community better anyway.
Nope, and it’s awesome. I2P works similarly to tor except instead of being discouraged, there’s a torrent client built in. Only down side is as it’s an entirely P2P network with alot of hops (more than tor) it’s quite slow.
I have VideoDownloadHelper addon for Firefox, and most of the time it works. There are some exceptions of course, where it cannot download the video. But I love finding out new ways to do it, in case the old ways fail one day. Good post, man!
