Ive seen MS is having to do a lot of work in regards to pro privacy due to EU regulation, I switched on my oculus quest which I keep offline and questioned if enforced account, locked in applications that serve beyond base functions and the locked down setting, surely all this goes against privacy laws in some way....
From what I read you need to have a paid account in order to be able to have multiple accounts in the protomail app....
I am looking for a solution. I’m thinking of a locally hosted socks5 proxy like TOR has, but instead of TOR, this self hosted proxy can be configured to rotate through other remote proxies that I have access to...
Sometimes I want to get updates on a news story, and it’s small or local so the coverage is sparse. I’d like to get an alert when a new news story or social media post is published....
Greetings fellow privacy enjoyers,...
I usually use Age, I’d like to hear your opinions.
I’m currently still using gmail unfortunately...
If any of you have been browsing r/privacy lately you would have come across the British student who had the Air-force literally swarm the flight he was on. This is because he made some joke about a bomb sitting in an airport....
Fossify Gallery (fork of Simple Gallery), Fossify File Manager (fork of Simple File Manager) and Fossify Calendar (fork of Simple Calendar) are now available for download on F-Droid....
Okay, it may sound like a personal issue, but I disagree with the privacy practices in developer tools. And I’m not talking about VSCode issue, but about other more elemental development tools. For example, the privacy policy of npmjs.com, pkg.go.dev (Google’s privacy policy lol), hub.docker.com, and these public registries...
Things like privacy statements and permission to use cookies are little more than sophisticated propaganda. If you think for a moment the Overlords cannot prepare a dossier on you within minutes that would make your mother faint and your father die of shame, you’re living in fantasy land. You have no idea how much data they...
I’ve used a VPN on individual devices for some time now. Every once in a while I come across a website that says it’s blocking my access because of my IP address. I then change to another server until one isn’t flagged anymore. The problem is there isn’t one server that’s free from this issue....
Recently i noticed that even i don’t have an account on caller id apps, still it shows my details from who saved my info on their phone who uses caller id apps.
On Android using Bromite and Mull (with uBlock). Have seen here mention of Chromite. A quick search shows that it is a fork of Bromite. Has anyone undertaken a meaningful real world comparison or general experience?

I am looking for some recomandations to add more wireguard servers. Right now I only have a few protonvpn free servers.
In a recent Matrix blog post dated November 24, they wrote:...
I understand what he does is only his preference but why does he not recommend using Mullvad anywhere in his books or podcasts and completely shills “Proton” for everything as if it’s the best source for everything privacy related....
Does anyone that pays for proton also use it with a SO? We’ve been looking to pay for it but the family plan looks like an overkill for us. The viable alternative is paying for the Mail Plus plan for each of us but we are a bit worried that we won’t be able to share calendars....
I’ve tried using firefox’s built in dark theme but it doesn’t quite do enough. I’m looking for a dark reader that’ll invert most websites’ white background and dark text. I was wondering what privacy friendly dark readers people here would recommend, as some that I’ve seen have reports of harvesting user data and...
So, this might seem like a stupid question on face value, but I’ll go further in detail....
Hello everyone, I’m in search of a new Android browser. Currently, I’m using Via browser, which is lightweight and functions well with essential features. However, the only thing it lacks is a tracker library blocker. I’m contemplating switching to Mozilla Fennec, which does have a library blocker, but I’d prefer...
Hey...
I have seen many people in this community either talking about switching to Brave, or people who are actively using Brave. I would like to remind people that Brave browser (and by extension their search engine) is not privacy-centric whatsoever....
