This is all opinions here, so I’m just saying that Sync is the only one I know that’s closed source.

JubilantJaguar, in Privacy Win: EU Parliament Decides That Your Private Messages Must Not Be Scanned!

Quick politics primer. The EU Parliament is not all-powerful. It cannot even propose legislation (yet). The EU is still mostly a confederation so it’s the governments that hold the reins. But the EP has to say yes for anything to pass. And since it is essentially a consultative body, the EP also tends to contain at least a handful of earnest idealists and specialists (usually Germans) who know when to say no, and how to amend legislation. They are often from the Greens-EFA parliamentary group and sometimes from the liberal Renew group. That is likely what happened here, yet again. It is very important for EU citizens to vote for these parties and candidates in EU elections. The next election is coming up in 6 months.

More likely they were forced to change course due to public lobbying allegations and “expert” list comprised of big tech and cops being exposed.

Sadly you need to reach out to the caller ID app developers and ask them to remove your info.

One option is a live CD or a VM and in this case you can restore the state after each session. In both cases only your IP, timestamps, browser details and everything you interacted with on the site is stored by Facebook. But no new hardware or cookies will be stored on your device as it is wiped each time.

    webghost0101,

Its either this or its not real. I cant believe a human would green light this unless this is their final task before taking a better job.

I wouldn’t bother with the app. Log in through the website with lite apps.

I mean yeah everybody has their own threat models so go for it just understand what you will be giving up. Assuming no recreating accounts, if you want to further isolate it I would recommend using everything meta related through a privacy friendly browser that has ad/tracking protection, aswell as an always on vpn or DNS solution that has an option to block ads and trackers.

Edit: If you want a simple addition using something like trackercontrol might be another useful tool to help you

The fact it was partially and advertisement for the company, even if indirectly, bothered me, but I thought the message seemed valid.

Pyr_Pressure, in New Outlook update sends passwords and mails on private servers to MS. Ulrich Kelber, TheCommissioner for Data Protection of Germany plans to submit inquires on Tuesday

It’s such a stupid fucking name too.

I tried it, and then it wouldn’t load any previous history or emails so I contacted support to try and see if I did something wrong during setup.

Labelled it as trouble with “outlook” because it’s… The “new” outlook, no?

They went through and tried to diagnose my issue for awhile before telling me they couldn’t do anything because the Outlook (new) isn’t actually outlook it’s relabeled windows mail and I setup my ticket wrong.

So how are you supposed to differentiate outlook vs outlook (new) when they are supposedly completely separate programs?

    Evotech,

    That seems like supports issue
