herr, (edited ) in Proton Mail CEO Calls New Address Verification Feature 'Blockchain in a Very Pure Form'

I would strongly assume Protonmail will be doing this automatically soon, there’s no manual day-to-day verification necessary.

Writing to the Blockchain is difficult and takes processing power, reading from it is absolutely trivial though.

Boost doesn’t seem to support display names other than on the profile page. It does, however, tell me that your account was created 6th of june 1923 :p

    themeatbridge,

Zerush, in What should be used for anonymous usernames?

Random nicknames are not recommended, they are unique identifiers, it is better to use nicknames of famous people or movies, video games, etc., because it makes it difficult to find them on the web, especially if different ones are used on each site.

Okay, the funniest part about this is that even with all the bullshit Twitter/X does nowadays, those ads actually violated their terms, too.

    That is hysterical.

Dear EU Commission: What the actual fuck.

Been using it for half a year I really like it because they haven’t had any big controversy, they have all the features that I need and their business is located pretty close to where I live.

DieguiTux8623, in noyb files complaint against EU Commission over targeted chat control ads

It appears that the EU Commission has tried to influence public opinion in countries such as the Netherlands in order to undermine the position of the national government in the EU Council. Such behaviour – especially in combination with illegal micro-targeting – is a serious threat to the EU legislative process and completely contradicts the Commission’s intention to make political advertising more transparent.

This can and should not pass unobserved.

Sync is the absolute best app but I think privacy is probably not great.

But this is Lemmy so you don’t even need to use an email address if you don’t want. You can be semi anonymous and change username often if you want, and change between apps or instances also.

Data is never gone but it’s also not tied to anything real about you.

    privacybro, in Anonymous phone number

there are people on Monero Market who will do it for you. SMS pool and Text Verified are also viable.
