my current dell one has an amd cpu, slotted ram (no soldered on crap) and nvme + sata (with space for a drive); too bad the build quality and the touchpad sucks
my old lenovo one also had replacable slotted cpus (with Pentium 2020m pre-installed). The lid also just slid off (like on a rail), with only one screw needing removal, no flimsy plastic clips. I broke plastic part of the hinge on that one by just flipping it over, oh well.
windows is hell for development tho???
I spend most of my time in WSL2 and MSYS .
unless you’re developing specifically for windows using win32 api, but i think all software should be cross platform these days.
i use vscode/codiums built-in debugger gui but I’m pretty comfortable with gdb too
my isp supports ipv6 but disables it in openwrt config.
i found a way to get root access to it and re-enabled it, seems to work just fine. the configuration is kinda fucked up but kinda works (dhcpv6, no slaac)
I’d rather just use the nu shell than tools like jq
i basically use it to write all of my scripts nowadays, it’s structured data approach is amazing (kinda similar to PowerShell, but done right)
Well known KDE developer Nate Graham is out with a blog post today outlining his latest Wayland thoughts, how X11 is a bad platform, and the recent topic of “Wayland breaking everything” isn’t really accurate....
soviet union (mass-produced and) placed them literally everywhere.
there’s at least one lenin or stalin statue per major street, some countries are just starting removing them, but it’s a really long process due to sheer amount of them, regulations and stuff.
the amount of these things is somewhat absurd
Kind of a trend, the amount of youtubers who i had loved but their content became generic after gaining popularity is quite a bit, most drastic one being mrwhosetheboss, his uniqueness went down faster than MH27 MH17
legitimate interest is still not a valid legal basis for data collection/tracking in Europe, so it’s not that big of an issue (…but it still allows them to do more they usually can without “legitimate interest”). also most tracking scripts and cookies will be blocked by uBlock anyway
