Thanks for that added YouTube link. You know I was just gonna go listen to it anyway. Granted… I might just rewatch the final episode of Season 3 just to see the Poker scene again.
You have the accumulated memories of trillions of prior drones, including the ones who built that mess in the first place, so you already know what each cable does and where it goes.
I know we only ever see a handful of rooms, that’s fine, but with over 100 crew they always all have personal quarters that are probably the square footage of 3/4’ish containers.
150m in diameter is one way to think about it. But then it’s also 8 containers long, or 25 containers circumference at the largest point down to no more than a few in circumference at the bridge.
You know, that seems tiny, it’s like there’s no volume left for the hardware that needs to be between every room and all over the hull
You’ll turn into us… slowly but surely. Sooner than later you’ll think something looks really cool and then look it up on YouTube. You’ll look up a few more clips then go “Eh, why not give this show a try.” From there it’s a slippery slope into bliss, my friend.
Like… did Q just re-create existence around him? Or did he pluck Prime Picards consciousness and dump it into the body of Beta Picard? I like to think it’s the latter with Beta Picard in the background just like “Wait… what? What’s happening?” and then Q and Picard fuck off leaving this poor dude to desperately rely on therapy for the next couple years.
I just want to see how happy and relaxed Ensign Picard is. No critical decisions to make. Able to make friends among the crew without his rank getting in the way.
We get to see Captain Picard in Ensign Picard’s body, but we never get to see the slacker who has big dreams but doesn’t bother to push himself.
What we don’t see in the episode is that Q does the same thing to ensign Picard and he is like: “This sad and lonely fellow would be me if I sacrificed everything for my career?”
