Can we get a Sci Hub link? Not all of us have good library access, or want to enrich publishers who leech the work of scientists who aren’t even compensated for it.
Thanks for the tips, but like the other poster, I just want a working link. I’m not going to research SciHub replacements to read a single jokey study.
Interestingly, the journal editors have released an expression of concern earlier this year for this article and others by the same author.
SAGE Publishing has been made aware of scientific concerns regarding the work of Dr. Nicholas Guéguen. Multiple concerns have been raised regarding the integrity of the research including but not limited to concerns around data fidelity, replicability of findings, and ethical consent and oversight for studies involving human participants. SAGE Publishing’s Research Integrity Team, in cooperation with this journal’s editors, are currently conducting an investigation into these articles.
This expression of concern will remain in place until the investigation is completed and any further needs for appropriate action have been taken.
In December 2022, in the journal Information Development, an academic researcher survey found, when confronted by a paywall, they try to find an open-access version, then ask colleagues with other credentials, then use shadow libraries.[2] 57% of respondents have used shadow libraries while 36% of respondents were unaware that shadow libraries exist.[2]
In other words, whether you use grassroots, collectivized forms of knowledge centralization (aka “shadow libraries”) in your work depends entirely on whether you are aware they are an option. Those who know, use. Most know.
(That is one of more boring parts of that wikipedia page.)
