I agree but mistakes from season 1 are still going to be problematic to the story, still wondering if they are just going to ignore that they made the idea of reincarnating as a different sex as something someone would expect to happen over being something no one would expect.
Yeah I’d say they were pretty bad and then got worse. They were agreeable movies for a diverse group at one point, even if they weren’t all Marvel-heads. The Joss Whedon style of quippy self-referencing dialogue and unlikable protagonists is their major weak point, it got old between Firefly getting cancelled and the first Marvel movie but hadn’t been overdone in pop culture yet apparently.
An MCU sex scene:
“That was so hot how you did that thing 3 scenes ago …I guess we’re alone now”
“Yeah… this is the part in a movie where sex happens…”
“I suppose if sex were going to happen, we would start like this…”
He has a point, but it’s not really limited to trans people.
Mental illness in general seems to be revered among this generation, for some reason. I had to make some decisions about what sexes to include in my app, and I just went with ‘male, female, and other.’ I know that’s going to piss some people off, but they can just deal with it.
The amount of additional work required to add and maintain a list of genders just isn’t worth it. Thankfully this is mostly an issue in Western culture, and my app is worldwide.
People with an agenda expect you to bend over backwards to support that agenda because they care more about their agenda than what you’re actually doing.
If Trump wins again, I am buying a one way ticket out of the country because I’m trans, brown, college educated, in a same sex relationship, an immigrant, and an outspoken liberal. His cult literally considers me subhuman and he is openly bragging about how he’ll turn the country into the next Reich.
If Biden wins, I don’t have to uproot my life and instead continue to be disenfranchised by a party of centrists and conservatives posing as leftists
They are not the same and anyone who tries to argue otherwise in this day and age is either stupid or malicious. Which one is it?
Is it shallow, or petty, to decide based on name alone? Yeah, pretty much, but there’s probably something, a product or service or site, that the name has made you gloss right over it or jump to it ASAP....
Thought of another! I don’t have opportunity to go there anyway, cos they’re not in my country, but I always thought In-N-Out Burger was a uniquely terrible name.
So, it’s a burger that will be in and out. Why will it be in and out? Are you going to vomit it back up? Or is it because it’ll give you diarrhea? Or what else could In-N-Out mean? Sex? Why are you making me think about sex in such proximity to vomit and diarrhea? Honestly, I’m not hungry anymore.
I always thought it was a deliberately horrible name to court controversy, but it turns out the owner is a conservative Christian so it may be genuine tone deaf idiocy.
You can find relatively cheap ones online. Damn near kilt em is one I can vouch for as a good first kilt. Or stillwater kilts for something cheap and more traditional looking.
The number one thing to know when buying is that you need to actually measure yourself. Pants lie, kiltmakers generally don’t.
If you want something a little nicer, there are plenty of businesses that make kilts to measure. My last few came from alpha kilts, but I think they quit. Alt.kilt does crazy custom stuff. Utilikilt is probably the most famous one, though I’ve never actually tried theirs.
There’s whole communities online for this stuff. I used to get reviews and find new stores on xmarksthescot.
If you get a contemporary kilt, meaning pockets and modern style, you just need a belt. If you go traditional tartan you probably need a sporran or some other kind of bag or pouch since they don’t have pockets. Traditional kilts also typically use a kilt pin to add weight to the front apron to keep it from blowing around too easily.
Tall socks are good formal wear or cold weather. I am a very casual guy and an arctic creature, so I usually just wear closed toe sandals. But if you live in a cold place and need to stay warm, a full size “9 yard” kilt will do the trick, it creates a pocket of warm air, and the legs being together gives it a mitten effect.
You can go commando (aka going regimental, because in highland regiments underwear is considered out of uniform), but I don’t recommend it. For one thing, you don’t know fear until you’ve been caught in a gust of 50 mph wind while walking past a school playground on a day that you decided to save time by forgoing underwear, and now you are desperately holding down all sides of a lightweight kilt and trying not to end up on sex offender registry. But on a much more mundane level, it’s also just a lot easier to keep your kilt clean when it isn’t directly touching your junk or your crack. I wear briefs but I go up a couple sizes, so that the elastic still holds them up but they hang off me when I’m standing, which feels like I’m wearing nothing at all.
Of course, if anyone asks what’s worn under the kilt, you have lots of options:
Nothing’s worn, it’s all in excellent condition.
If you want to find out it will cost you dinner and a movie first.
Just talking poorly about a person in general is annoying to me. I don’t care to hear it. If they did something heinous like traffic people please let me know that but I really can’t care to know that your ex partner or soon to be ex partner did a, b, and c. I hear at least once a week someone saying their ex “has a small dick anyways” and comments about their sex life. I don’t care. I don’t want to know. I just want to tell those people to leave me alone but they obviously are already upset and trying to rage out so I don’t want to deal with the what happens after I tell them that. Likely just more rage now focused at me then.
Hey, so I believe in a higher power but I’m not on board with any particular religion. Anyone else think it’s cool to just fly solo as a good human, no religion attached?
It’s cool. I come from a religious background that I questioned all the time, even when my family focused only on teaching us the wholesome beautiful stuff, it’s still hard to be on board with the rest or how other people interpret it.
So I’ve decided to quit. It’s still hard, but I do still believe in a higher power. All the rest… I don’t think God cares about head scarves or sex or alcohol,… Just live your life the way you want to and you’ll be okay.
The TLDR is that not every one sucks and some times you need to give people a chance.
No disagreement there, but I am not seeing how this aligns with the discussion we are having.
At the end of the day not everyone sucks. Putting all of the blame on one sex is disingenuous. Both men and women can be fucked up. There are plenty of good men struggling to find good women. There are plenty of good women struggling to find good men. The world is chock full of assholes for both sexes.
It works both ways but you’re only looking in one direction. Based on everything you said in your last post it sounds a lot like you agree with me, you just don’t want to admit it.
He had recently read about a high school creative writing assignment in which boys and girls were asked to imagine a day from the perspective of the opposite sex. While girls wrote detailed essays showing they had already spent significant time thinking about the subject, many boys simply refused to do the exercise or did so resentfully.
I mean, we're not just talking about the ability to communicate (which is important), but the basic ability to empathize. If men (in general) are unwilling to even consider the female point of view, is it any wonder why women have a difficult time dating? This isn't happening in a vacuum; there are real reasons why this is happening.
I would hesitate to draw conclusions from something like that. Both me and a lot of the other men I know just flat out skipped basically every assignment like that if it didn’t give enough points to be worth the effort, from middle school up through college.
Beyond that, it just seems like a shitty assignment as a whole. Because either a) it’s done under an assumption that their day as the opposite sex would be spontaneous, and thus would have very few relevant differences from their normal days (and we can easily guess those differences) or b) it’s done under an assumption of having always been the opposite sex, in which case it would just be an exercise in the butterfly effect, since huge amounts of things would be different, to the point that any generic hypothetical day would work.
All this is to say, it’s a prime assignment for skipping
There’s also a million legal reasons to get married… If there weren’t, same sex marriage would probably have never made it to the Supreme Court. Everything from insurance coverage, employment benefits, credit rating, child custody, transfer of property following death, medical decisions, and a bunch of other very secular, very important benefits are conferred via legal marriage.
What about all the unfuckable women? Again you look at everything one sided.
Both sexes need to get better. You’re saying that it’s all up to the men. In other words what you’re saying is women don’t have to be responsible for anything, they can act any way they want. A very entitled and selfish attitude.
Did you ever consider that this toxic mentality DRIVES AWAY the good men? Maybe good men want nothing to do with you because of your mentality. That leaves only the toxic men to put up with your bullshit, so that’s all you see.
I just looked up the Ojibwa Indians and while I tend to try and be respectful of native/aboriginal religions, that, uh, that’s a pretty interesting story. Like, for those of y’all who haven’t looked it up, you should. It’s… Interesting.
It’s also fascinating to me because I’ve had a pet speculation that I like to entertain about “Xeno Christ”, which originated from my observation that the creation story in the book of Genesis is very similar to how we believe the universe came to be (scientifically speaking). It’s not a perfect 1:1, but if you use a little bit of creative license (like dinosaurs=birds, 'cause they kinda were), then it gets really close. The fact that the Ojibwa creation story seems to describe what we’d consider aliens kinda aligns with my speculation that many ancient religions were established as a message to humanity that was meant to persist as long as possible. Basically a mind virus that instructed people on how they should conduct themselves in order to be accepted by the greater galaxy/universe.
Imo, at the very least Christianity makes more sense when interpreted that way. The rules about what you can or can’t eat, what you wear, homosexuality, etc are more reasonable if you think of them not as a deity who cares about whether or not you stick your dick into another man’s butt, but instead instructions that attempt to warn humans away from behavior that’d potentially lead to parasites and STDs.
The concept of heaven and hell makes sense from the standpoint of establishing staying power as well as a way of discouraging immorality or potentially harmful behavior. It discourages certain behaviors because going to hell is a Big Deal. It also has staying power because, unlike an immediate threat, you can’t break a rule and then find out that there’s no one enforcing the rule. Additionally, by not using a karma system (what goes around comes around) but instead promising punishment after death, you solve the “billionaire problem” aka, “Zuckerberg is evil, why is he one of the richest men on the planet”. Finally, it gives a reason to continue in your beliefs and spread them as far as you can, because we as humans are (typically) empathetic and none of us want to see a favorite relative go to hell when we’re going to heaven or vice versa.
On a side note: it’s also kinda interesting that, according to the Objiwa story, one of the miigi was so spiritually powerful that they accidentally killed everyone in their presence. Kinda like how God is described in the old testament. Makes you wonder sometimes.
Tbh I don’t know if I actually believe any of it, but it’s fun to play with the idea.
Edit: damn, people here thinking humans had health classes and knowledge about microbiology 4000-something years ago. There’s the real ancient aliens shit LOL. Also, the Bible banned sodomy in general, which was defined as anything that wasn’t for the purpose of reproduction. That includes a man having anal or oral sex with his wife.
I thought it meant that the two people were together because of the situation they are in and when it changes they are going on their way. Like anonymous sex but sometimes dinner and a movie.
I would make money in UO sometimes by logging into a female character and “bowing” in front of people to make it look like my character was performing oral sex. You could also spam “bow” while the other player spammed “salute” while standing behind the first player to look like doggy style sex.

I didn’t read this series when I was a kid, but I finally got around to reading Roger Zelazny’s Chronicles of Amber....
