Super braindead take, men exercise for their own health and confidence. In the same way that women wear makeup, it may help attracting the opposite sex but we do it for ourselves. Also exercise is one of the most direct mechanisms for self improvement regardless of gender.
If you’re going to choose a god to praise, why choose an easily insulted one-eyed old fart with a self-confidence problem? Go with someone with more pizzazz, like Freyja. Goddess of love, beauty, sex, war, magic. Is there anything she doesn’t do?
Odin kidnapped children and set them to be chased by wolves for all eternity because of how their father named them.
No hailing Oden, please. He’s a cunt.
This bit is tongue in cheek, specifically the “no hailing Oden” bit. It is a joke. I don’t actually care if someone worships Oden or not, you’re free to do as you please. I apologise if my phrasing came across as more serious than was intended. My apologies to you, @Delphia, and anyone else whom I’ve offended.
This…
Odin kidnapped children and set them to be chased by wolves for all eternity because of how their father named them.
…is a reference to the story of the children Sol and Mani, whose father loved them so much he decided to name them after the sun and the moon. Oden took offence to this, and whisked the children away up into the skies to drive the carriages of their namesakes, and just to ensure none shirked their duty, he set Fenrir’s two children, Hati (Hatred) and Sköll (Treachery) to chase them until the end times when the twin wolves devour their targets.
No matter how you look at it, that’s a shitty thing to do. It’s not the children’s fault that their father gave them that name. Suppose father was punished too in that he lost his beloved kids, but the children really drew the short end of the stick.
It’s not the first time he’s a bit of a shithead either. The way I’ve always understood the stories having grown up with them, his treatment of Loke’s children is what drives them to oppose him in the end times. He creates a lot of problems that could be fixed would he be open to properly communicate, but Oden isn’t the type to do that. He’s too prideful.
And this…
He’s also co-opted as a symbol for nationalism and white supremacy so there’s that part too.
…is sadly also true. I welcome people rekindling Asatro. I think that’s delightful. However, sadly there’s a bunch of people that have co-opted these stories and group together under Odin as a symbol of hatred and xenophobia. I obviously don’t think the person I initially responded to is one of these people, nor do I think they’re seriously practising asatro.
So, if you do decide to openly worship Oden, or carry imagery associated with him - that’s really cool, but it’s also worth noting that sadly in modern society at least here in Scandinavia, there are some unsavory connotations with it.
Finally this
If you’re going to choose a god to praise, why choose an easily insulted one-eyed old fart with a self-confidence problem? Go with someone with more pizzazz, like Freyja. Goddess of love, beauty, sex, war, magic. Is there anything she doesn’t do?
…is also tongue-in-cheek, though I do unironically think Freyja is many times cooler than Oden and I will (figuratively) fight you on that.
Don’t sell them short; incel lifestyle is about so much more than (no) sex. I’d challenge you to find any incel posts that exhibit empathy or even a reasonable understanding of human interaction.
Incel as a term describes something much more specific than “virgin (but they don’t want to be).” That may be the literal meaning of the words, but like, we all know that the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea is not democratic, people’s, or a republic.
Incel, the way it’s typically used, describes a particular type of person who’s embittered by their long-lasting virginity, and because of that, views most or all members of the opposite sex as lesser than them, believing that they’re in some way owed sex, and have been denied that ‘right.’
I never realized they were the same person before. I went to Wikipedia and found:
Schultz has also written for Breitbart where he likened liberalism to mental illness, and has similarly suggested that President Barack Obama’s administration may intend to force sex reassignment surgery onto him and others.
It can be fun in small doses except when it wants you to watch a bunch of cutscenes instead of doing stuff. The biggest drawback is just the length of the game. If you played 5 hours per week it might take upwards of half a year to finish a playthrough.
That being said, it’s probably one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played and the best D&D computer game I’ve ever played. I’m fifty so that encompasses a lot of games. The range of morality and meaningful choices is extremely high. To the point where I want to experience making different choices but it’s hard because it’s such a time commitment to do a whole playthrough just to see what unique dialog options you get for playing a Tiefling or a Druid.
The romances and dialogs can be a little spicy, and it runs the gamut of adult language. I think nudity can be turned off and romance is optional, but you’d have to judge whether that would be a problem for their family. Even the full on sex scenes imply more than they show, but I’d be uncomfortable if I was surprised by one while playing with my kid. This is definitely a judgment call on your part.
It’s a great game and I wouldn’t want to discourage anyone from buying/playing it, but I’d be remiss to not mention some of the reasons it might not be for everyone. I’m hopeful it might lead to introducing my kids to tabletop play. But I’m not overly concerned with language or adult themes in an appropriate context.
Okay, this may come off as unemphatetic but I love the fact that slavery doesn’t give a shit about your sex or wealth. Like, the percentages are almost fully equal, save for actual low income that is almost double what the other percentages are. Other than that, all are equal in the eyes of slavers.
Shit’s wild. What’s also wild is that these numbers still exists…especially when thinking about Americas or Europe. :|
The UN sponsored report uses a pretty liberal definition of slavery to include things like wage theft (which forces workers to stay at a job until they’re fully compensated), sex trafficking, and domestic servitude where the servant’s documents are confiscated so that they can’t flee.
However, there’s still a hell of a lot whips and chains slavery in Africa and South East Asia. Those slaves serve the excavation and manufacturing industries.
Most things are done in averages when you’re talking about a large population so the average doses between sexes are different that was the first part the second part is the averages of physical differences between sexes, so my bad I it seem like I was putting the two together. And my overall point is that it’s not I was born a male and feel/mentally that I’m female or vice versa, it’s morphed into I am what I claim to be regardless of these averages and differences between the two sexes, don’t question me, which can lead to adverse effects when it comes to your dosage in medication’s, and the differences in weight classes and bone and muscle density.
So, you’re saying they don’t have different trial runs for medication for the two sexes based on its type and what it’s for? Also, that medication doesn’t and cannot have different effects on the two sexes based on the type of medication? Bring up points about something doesn’t make you against or for a group of people. Also, other countries that bet American to gender affirming care stopped it and made laws against it because of the possible side effects, such as the Finland, Sweden, France, Norway, and the U.K.
No, they do not have different drug trials based on sex or gender. No, medication absolutely does not have different effects based on sex or gender. Hearts, lungs , kidneys, all work the same no matter what kind of reproductive organs you happen to possess.
We do not distinguish based on sex or gender when administering medications. We only account for body size and individual response/tolerance to a medication.
