Hi everyone, this is a small but hopefully enjoyable bit of MC from my childhood. Way back when, my Dad worked in IT and worked from home. This is back in the early days of telecommuting and so most of his day was spent on calls in between actual technical stuff. The internet was in its infancy, so if he was working he really...
For me-- Lemmy is getting dangerously close to pulling me away from Reddit, and I love it, but still, there’s a ways to go in terms of ‘critical features,’ yeah?...
I’m stoked. Need my wife back man I been burning both ends for so long. Trying not to remember all the horrifying medical problems that can happen
I use Lemmy mostly in Firefox Android. When I click on a post and then go back, the page goes back to the beginning. This doesn’t happen in Firefox desktop. Is there a solution to this problem?...
I could swear to God I never hit the 10 mark over there. In here as long as it isn’t a “^this” I get 10-20, and solidly hit the 50 mark if I comment something truly meaningful.
here’s some I’ve noticed:...
If so, what triggered it and what was it like?
Yes, I’m the one in the group DM that turns the bubbles green, I’m sorry....
That way, if you damage anything, you have video proof that you left it in good condition.
Just had my old dumb LG TV die after 9 years of working just dandy. I lack the desire to root around for a dead capacitor so I am currently in the market for an approximate replacement to act as the display for my Linux media center in my living room. I figure this is the right crowd for finding a non-invasive TV so my Linux...
I’m trying to replace the jet engine fan inside the PSU of a Nu 1.1 with a Noctua equivalent and am having trouble identifying the connector. The PSU is a Delta Electronics Model EDPS-250AB A, Part Number 400-5494-91....
As I get older into adulthood I feel like more and more things require my attention. Trying to juggle work, family, home maintenance etc I’m constantly busy. I can almost never find time to rest because there is always something that has to be done. How do you find time to rest and cope with the stress but also get the things...
For me, it’s sticking my hand out of the window of a moving car. Whether I’m driving or not, I love having the windows down and waving my hand in the wind. I’ve loved it since I was a child and I’ll never stop doing it!
I know there’s donations and the owners can use their own money, but there’s a limit. I doubt a platform with hundreds of thousands of daily users can survive with only donations.
I still use Font Renamer to manage my font collection. It works great but hasn’t received an update since 2008. Even the website looks straight out of the Windows XP era.
It seems like for at least a decade every application/framework has had their own paste buffer, and honestly I’m surprised this isn’t “just working” out of the box by now....
I used to use Sway and I found tiling to be useful only when using multiple terminals. Tmux allows me to have tiling functionalities for terminals while having a full desktop environment for all other applications.
i’ve grown increasingly, increasingly tired of youtube lately. the exhausting shorts advertised everywhere, overwhelming thumbnails, sensory overload and just generally a really piss poor site. Is there anywhere someone like me can turn to?
There absence of a few subreddits here in lemmy world are making my experience somewhat incomplete. I was really into r/noiserock on reddit and would like to help re-create that community. It does not seem as straight forward though. Am I only allowed to create communities on my instance? I guess, in general, how are new...
I am sorry if this has been asked before, but when or will it be open sourced. It is the best Lemmy Client i have used yet but i dont like anything being closed source and i read somewhere the dev wants to open source it at some point. Just interested if there is an estimate.
A few examples include s*x questions on askreddit, “this” comments, nolife powermods, jokes being more frequent than actual answers
