0x4E4F,

Yes, you can just set it to mount a, let’s say @home, subvolume to /home and that’s that, done.

0x4E4F,

Really? They don’t do Wi-Fi and BT chips any more?

Try searching online for cups filters. Maybe someone made a custom filter file for that printer that works… worth a shot 🤷. I’ve had luck hunting down custom filters for some obscure printers in the past.

Setting up a shared printer in Windows is (could be) a PITA though… not being able to choose SMB versions can make your Linux setups with SMB a pain 😔. That’s why I prefer Linux with samba as the print server, you can fine tune almost everything to make it work with any Windows and Linux install.

Have no idea to be honest, I stole the meme 😂. But yes, I have had problems with wifi drivers on Linux. Not a lot, but still.

And yes, I’m still trying to get an old Microtek scanner to work in Linux 😔.

0x4E4F,

Have no idea what that is to be honest 😂.

0x4E4F,

Agreed 👍.

0x4E4F, (edited )

Yep, been in the same boat 😂. Was an LTS fan for a long long time till I realized… this shit ain’t worth it 😂.

Everthing there is out there in 99% of the cases compiles against latest libraries. And well, LTS is just… lagging behind 🤷. So, you solve one lib dependcy and then, bam, another one pops up… OK, solved that one, bam, another one 😒… it just gets frustrating to compile stuff on LTS.

And then you get all sorts of errors from the package manager cuz you did the unthinkable - install latest libs on an LTS distro.

LTS is good for one thing only nowadays - servers.

0x4E4F,

Yeah, I use whatever integrated I can get 😂. Don’t game, 2 monitors is more than enough for me, so 🤷 😂.

0x4E4F,

Why not use LAN instead?

0x4E4F,

Try Void, maybe it has the adequate firmware binary blobs… worth a try 🤷.

0x4E4F,

That might be one of the very few cases.

0x4E4F,

This has to be the best script message I’ve ever seen 😂.

0x4E4F,

Yeah, hardware wise they’re superb. Software wise… not so much… maybe that’s the reason why they fell so behind on broadcast equipment.

0x4E4F,

Have to admit though, when it comes to quality equipment, they do take the cake. I’ve never had a Sony product break on me (except my walkman, but that was my fault 😂).

But, to be honest, I’ve never consumed anything but audio and video equipment from them (receiver amplifiers and TVs). Things may be different in other departments, including their PS department.

0x4E4F,

Yep, solid idea, could be done. And then you can get one of these to hook up to an old stereo.

0x4E4F,

That is not my problem. In this day and age where prices if food have gone through the roof, sorry, but I usually search for the cheapest place there is. I have a fixed income as well.

0x4E4F,

Haven’t tried BleachBit on Windows. Does it clean driver installation logs, compress browser databases, MRU explorer cache, opd prefetch files, Windows updates, etc.?

0x4E4F,

Can’t get nore direct than that 🤣🤣🤣.

0x4E4F,

Actually, it’s not that silly, TCP/IP is built on that model, so are many other protocols. Though yes, it can be done better.

0x4E4F,

Yes, there was a war, but there were a lot of factors that contributed to that, including the US medling in internal affairs. In general, up until the death of Tito, everything was pretty much OK. The turmoils began after his death.

0x4E4F,

It was a joke, a meme, nothing more, meant to amuse. No promotion intended.

0x4E4F,

That requires a different mindset and (maybe) a different level of eveolution. Food is free, you take what you need. Services are free, if your house needs something fixed, you call the adequate people, they do the job, that’s it. Same for healthcare, you just go to the doctor, no bill, you just leave (we used to have that around here). Tech products are free, you take what you need (TV, stereo, phone, PC, etc.). You go to work and do the same as everyone else, do your job and go home.

This is a very simplified version and as I said, it requires a different mindset. We’re not used to that right now, it’s alien to us.

The output is not valid, it won’t do anything… maybe write to a file “anarchism” in the dir in which the terminal was opened.

Is there any way I can make an old XMMS plugin work in any modern player?

Long story short, I learned there is an XMMS release of a plugin I use in Winamp for music playback (mp3PRO). Sadly, I recoded most of my music to mp3PRO back in the day, and now I’m stuck using Winamp, even on Linux. I like the player, wouldn’t change it, but I wanted to switch to something native, like Audacious or Qmms....

0x4E4F,

I have the original source for some of them, but very few, like maybe 1 or 2%.

Doesn’t matter, I’m just gonna redownload them in flac, store them on optical media as flac and keep them as HE-AAC on my NAS for local playback. It’s the only option that’s acceptable in my mind.

Noticed a strange occurrence where my monitor buttons will not react to presses when certain conditions are met

I have an Acer XV340CKP monitor connected via Display Port to my GPU. I also have a old LG W2253TQ that I use as a secondary display. It only has a DVI and VGA port. I have a DVI-DVI cable together with a DVI-Display Port converter to connect to my GPU, which is an Asus RX6900XT. I am running Nobara 38....

0x4E4F,

Well, it’s not a hardware problem in that case 😉. Good thing you fixed it 👍.
