I want to get back into reading, so I’m thinking of getting a Paperwhite. But I have no idea if it’s possible to transfer files to it from a computer, and I have no experience with pirating books....
both Linux operating systems have 1. A friendly user interface, 2. A hidden terminal, and 3. A locked down root user, to avoid dangerous actions!! Why do people seem to dislike Android when Ubuntu is similar to it??
It has some GNU utilities. We are talking a very small selection indeed. Some might even be completely different implementations compared to the typical GNU toolbox.
I’m a long-time Transmission user but I just learned that VPN killswitches are a thing (how did it take me so long!?). I would like to try another client which has this feature in case I forget to launch my VPN client before opening Transmission. Does anybody have any recommendations? Deluge? QBittorrent? Or any others?...
I have an OpenWRT router with an OpenVPN client on it. I use the router's firewall rules to secure the access as needed. If I'm using the VPN, then the VPN is the only way traffic can get out, as I close the direct route via firewall.
This setup persists even after a router reboot.
To do this easily, I made a Python script that can load the OpenVPN files on the router, switch on/off the OpenVPN connection and modify the firewall accordingly.
This affects the entire network, and means I am not reliant on the torrent software or desktop VPN client playing ball.
Happy to share my script if it will be handy to you.
Recently learned about this stuff on a Lemmy World post and I thought I’d move the conversation here since they’ve been fussy about DB0 in the past....
Okay, but what exactly does it add once you've made your point that they're banging? What additional point are you making that warrants not cutting to the next scene after that point has been established?
Lots of film and show makers don't ask these questions when they make their sex scenes so the result is boring filler.
There is no point talking to you because you don’t realise different people find different values in different things.
Sorry, I put this through my translator but all I got out was 'i don't actually have a point to make so I'm just going to pretend I won the argument'. Is this correct?
Some people would rather their TV reflected the reality of human relationships rather than being a sanitised mockery
It's cute that you think the kinds of shows that have sex scenes are anything other than a mockery of human relationships in themselves. Do you not actually pay attention to the plots?

That's not the case at all. These kind of Trojan operations are fly-by-night setups, and have the advantage of being able to react far faster than the official Devs. By the time you as the dev even know of the app's existence, they've already infected hundreds. And when you do get round to filing a takedown notice, they'll be back up the next day under a different name.
Even Nintendo can't get copyright infringing shit off Play Store in any fast capacity. Heck, Google will even run ads for people blatantly breaking copyright laws.
Edit: and that's before considering that Google won't let them onto play store and being only source available excludes them from eligibility for official F-Droid repos. They're going to have an absolute bitch of a time dealing with fakes and Trojans, even if they didn't release the source code at all
You mean the Tensor chips that don't appear until 6th gen, even though the project supports 5th and 4th gen?
They also literally state:
Devices need to be meeting the standards of the project in order to be considered as potential targets. In addition to support for installing other operating systems...
And
Devices with support for alternative operating systems as an afterthought will not be considered.
This pretty much rules out 99% of smartphones. I would argue this even rules out non-Pixel favourites such as the OnePlus lineup, even though I'm writing this on a Lineage-loaded OnePlus 7T. Support for other ROMs is there but it's quite fucky. Add in what you said about firmware support and yeah, only the Pixel lineup would apply.
The USSR had never worked with Germany beyond that of the rest of the world and worked far less than countries like the UK. To claim otherwise is ridiculous.
On 23 August 1939 the Soviet Union signed a non-aggression pact with Germany which included a secret protocol that divided Eastern Europe into German and Soviet "spheres of influence", anticipating potential "territorial and political rearrangements" of these countries.
They planned with the Nazis to basically divide up Europe.
Finland was allied with the Nazis and was the aggressor agaisnt the USSR.
You mean the same Nazis that the USSR had a non-aggression pact with? The one that wouldn't get broken until 1941, a year after the war with Finland ended?
Also:
The Soviets made several demands, including that Finland cede substantial border territories in exchange for land elsewhere, claiming security reasons – primarily the protection of Leningrad, 32 km (20 mi) from the Finnish border. When Finland refused, the Soviets invaded.
Ummm...pretty sure this makes Russia the aggressor, not Finland.
I've provided links to journalistic reports. You've provided nothing but 'trust me bro'.
Zelensky (and you and everyone else) knows what it means to fight agaisnt the USSR in WW2.
You do know there was a few years in early WW2 where the USSR was working with the Nazis, right? And fighting its own war with Finland? (the winter war) And annexations of the Baltic States and Romania?
Fighting against the USSR could mean that you fought for any of the above nations. Naziism wasn't the only thing to have happened during ww2, you know.
So you are essentially denying war crimes agaisnt Donbas civilians. If you don’t know about them, I advise you to stop speaking on them
Have you considered providing sources? Or literally anything other than just 'trust me bro'.
Your knowledge on Russian WW2 history is quite...lacking, so I'm sure you'll understand why I don't take your word for it.
Zelensky didn't know who the fuck this guy was and neither did the Canadian House Speaker who invited him, which is why the latter resigned after the incident.
And are you actually denying Ukraine’s murder of Donbas civilians?
What murders? Do you have anything other than baseless claims? Links, maybe? I seem to be the only one posting proof of my claims here, feels a bit one sided.

change my mind: Ubuntu does the same thing as Android
