You all remember just a few weeks ago when Sony ripped away a bunch of movies and TV shows people “owned”? This ad is on Amazon. You can’t “own” it on Prime. You can just access it until they lose the license. How can they get away with lying like this?
I mean you can basically make everything you can image work through stateless switches. You would use homebridge to attach some script to the switch and start from there. That’s how I control some of my stuff too. AFAIK homebridge and HA can co-exist.
Yes sorry I didn’t read your whole question very well. It may be possible to use the integrated remote app in the iPhone to control that. What device plays this video feed?
And fuck. I really miss plex. I’ve had Netflix and Hulu forever as family won’t let me cancel. Decided to sign up to Paramount + for some Trek. Twice in lower decks it didn’t save my watched episodes. Doesn’t mark episode as watched if you exit during the credits. And multiple playback issues....
You don’t technically need a NAS, the Pi can be it, but you’d need a usb 3 enclosure (way cheaper than a NAS). But honestly just let your pihole be your pihole and don’t mess with it. You may wanna get a pi zero and use that as your DNS and your old pi as a Plex server.
Yes you could but then every time you need to service your Pi your whole house will be left without internet.
For me personally it was a great decision to move my containers from the Pi with pihole to a dedicated media server. I did not ever get a warning that resources were low again and I have no unrelated downtime.
As a bonus, I also have the Pi VPN in there, so I can basically restart my media server remotely and not lose connection :D
Since you are asking in c/piracy, just download it. Either Blu-ray RIP or Web-DL (ripped from streaming services) will have far better quality than a DVD RIP. Unless is something unique, there is no real benefit in doing the leg work yourself.
If you want max bit-rate or lossless sound get a Blue-Ray remux. Otherwise WEB-DL looks as good for most people and weights a fraction.
The VPN provider I use has servers in multiple countries. I was wondering if privacy laws would make it better to VPN to some countries over others when pirating.
As long as your VPN provider is a proven no-logger, just go with the best performance.
But if you really want to pick countries, Eastern Europe, Italy and Switzerland just to name a few. If you are in the US I wouldn’t be crossing the pond with my VPN but that’s up to you.
If you don’t already, you can setup “healthchecks” for your containers, specially useful for qbit and Gluetun. That way, you may restart one if any condition fails using Autoheal.
Also check qbitmanage to setup seeding goals.
And best of all, where is Recyclarr? Sync that bitch right into your arrs to get consistently only the very best out there.
Most trackers are fine with you sharing their content. Heck, most trackers don’t even produce most of their content.
But let’s suppose they do. If you wanna share it, they cannot ever trace it back to your account, unless you are dumb and use the same username or something, but even then you can argue that it wasn’t you.
You can do the same with just 3 containers: qBittorrent, qbit manage, and some VPN. You will be saving a ton of resources while having more granular control over how you handle the seeding. That’s what I have :)
Are there any safe, functional apps for iOS mobile devices (specifically iPhone, but iPad would be nice too) that let you use Youtube without ads? Something like what Youtube Revanced is for Android.
I have a friend who is sharing his Argentine account with me. How he pays I don’t really know. The important bit for me was to VPN to Arg before logging in. Maybe search in YouTube for instructions?
I have a Galaxy Tab S7 and for a trip to Spain I downloaded some stuff to watch on the flight. When I got on the plane none of the stuff downloaded on Disney+ would play. Maybe an issue with downloading to the SD card? I don’t know, but regardless Disney offers SD card as a download destination so they should make sure it is...
Pay for Plex and a seedbox or Usenet and be free while also having the best quality there is. I invested my money in a few HDDs and I watch from every service out there for peanuts.
I actually don’t use Plex but Infuse, but OP is not in iOS so I went with that recommendation. You can also build your own “seedbox” if you are willing to have a server running 24/7 and have an ok internet. That’s my setup.
For me the benefit is 4K remuxes from top tier release groups (like Framestor) . If you can get there with your setup, I don’t really see a drawback.
qbt only ever sees the VPN as its network. It is logically isolated from my main gateway.
there are healthchecks running, so if the VPN fails qbt enters in a restart loop until the VPN is back to a healthy status.
I use private trackers for 99% of my torrents.
You also have to know that these scummy law firms use honey pot attacks, where they advertise themselves as leechers and record your IP if you upload to them. Technically a proxy to another country would just be enough here, but hey, this works too and I sleep better.

I have a DVD collection I want on my Jellyfin library. What software should I use for compressing these DVD files to sizes matching what you find at sea?
EDIT: Thank you so much everyone! There’s so much help for me here, and I’ll recommend anyone with similar question as me to read the comments...
