Recently went to breakfast with a couple of new neighbors (partners). They were asking me what apps I enjoyed and I told them that I WAS enjoying Apollo.
Lol at first I interpreted this as the waiter asking you what appetizers you wanted
It’s not inherently bad, at least from the user’s perspective, but Windows Defender will make you click “more info” or something before giving you the “run anyways” button since it thinks it’s a risk. I’ve never gotten a virus doing this, though
I remember reading somewhere (probably my high school textbook) that one of the reasons people don’t like wind power being built is they cause visual pollution....
I think they’re pretty tbh. There’s a huge stretch of them in a field I drive through sometimes, and at night I like to just stop for a second and watch 95% of them all flash their light on top in sync across an impressive distance.
And sometimes there’s one or two flashing out of sync in a weird rhythm and I assume it’s like an error code which I think is pretty interesting
whose kids are on an absolute rampage and their response is to squat down and say, “Now Kayydenn, we don’t do that here.”
Retail workers know this all too well. I have a regular customer at our store’s gas station that actually rewards her kid for this behavior, and the most punishment he gets is her sternly yelling “Keagan!!!”
He once took a squeegee out of the bucket and started splashing his mom, then after she wrestled it away from him he just went and got another and kept doing it. Then when she came back to the window to order her cigarettes, she gave him the change and said “let’s go, sweetie. :)” as she walked away, soaked in blue windshield cleaner. You can’t make this shit up.
Another time he pressed the emergency stop button at the window, which canceled all of the other customer’s orders. When she came up to the window for cigarettes, she said she hoped it wasn’t too much of a pain, and I informed her that refunding all of the discounts was, in fact, a huge pain. All she had to say for herself was “oh. sorry 😬” and then she bought him a Reese’s.
When she doesn’t let him out of the car, he will jump in the driver’s seat and lay on the horn. When she lets him out, he’ll toss the nozzles off of the pump, tear the napkins out of the dispensers, throw the squeegees into the road, knock over our cones, and play with whatever cleaning supplies he can find in our shed, which is unlocked now because he managed to break the lock. All while his mom is trailing behind him, cleaning up his messes half as fast as he can make new ones. At least she cleans everything up, but she is truly pathetic.
I’m genuinely curious how this kid is gonna turn out when he grows up.
There’s a video going around of a guy using a useragent spoofer to prove that it only does this on non-Chromium browsers. So I don’t think it’s necessarily anti-adblock, but it could be interpreted that way when you consider Google’s plans to implement DRM in Chromium.
why would I be looking forward to the next microtransactionfest RS is puking up
This bums me out so much. I have lots of good memories playing GTAV with my cousins as a kid, and with my friends online when I got older. Now I can’t bring myself to open it out of principle, because they’re locking things you used to be able to earn behind battlepasses and fucking paywalls. And there’s no doubt GTAVI is going to be even worse…
I feel bad for all the kids who will grow up with these kinds of games. I’m glad I was born just in time to experience games before the enshittification of the whole market.
That’s not as far fetched as it sounds. Any website worth its salt will store your password as a hash, so if they started sharing the hashes with each other they could prevent you from reusing passwords without changing much security-wise

Youtube has better anti-adblock now. Other than Invidious, any way around it? Purging and re-dowloading the ublock stuff didn't work
