AceFuzzLord, (edited ) to memes in Some days are better than others

I don’t like those family channels that use their kids for views and money, like the toy unboxing video channels. The young kid doesn’t have a developed enough brain or enough education to make an informed decision, making it feel wrong to me. All they see is just sitting in front of a camera and playing, probably.

AceFuzzLord, to linux in Amazon Building its Own Linux-Based OS to Replace Android

If anything, it’ll be a thing where amazon ends up close sourcing the code/parts that they create after forking whatever OS they decide. That, or they’ll just close source the entire codebase 100% before release without any regard or repercussions.

AceFuzzLord, (edited ) to linuxmemes in Oh no ...

Totally depends on the instance. There are definitely furry communities here in Lemmy and they definitely feel lonely. But I have heard of some furry mastodon instances that actually are lively and active. No idea if they actually are since I don’t have a clue why I can’t access my mastodon account, let alone what instance I signed up on.

But active non-Linux, non-Star Trek meme groups definitely are a thing, despite how small they are.

AceFuzzLord, to asklemmy in What MMOs are you all playing?

Anymore, occasionally, I’ll hop back into Wakfu or I’ll play Dofus Touch on my phone. Otherwise I don’t play MMOs at all.

AceFuzzLord, to memes in Where do they find these people

I was totally thinking about how these shows must be faked in some way. I just figured they payed people to go looking, despite the fact they actually have a nice enough home(s) and don’t actually need to move.

AceFuzzLord, to memes in Bets on the next one?

I’m betting they’re either gonna go with M or A, following twatter. Either way, we’ll have another service to mock for having an atrociously bad name.

AceFuzzLord, to piracy in What type of piracy do you use the most?

I didn’t know whether downloading music from yt using NewPipe would be considered DDL, so I just put “Other” for that. I put streaming only because that’s how I’ve been trying to keep up on Pokemon Horizons.

AceFuzzLord, to memes in Kitchen when Dad cook

If that’s how your kitchen ends up after cooking, I think you need to learn how to clean as you cook. That, or just stay outta my way.

AceFuzzLord, to piracy in Do you utilize a dedicated AV like Bitdefender when sailing? Or do you still trust Windows Defender to take care of the higher risk while doing this?

I still end up using programs/services such as malwarebytes and virustotal on my desktop since defender isn’t perfect. I have had a few instances where a game that I download outside of places like Steam had files that are actually clean and safe given false positives. Same with any key gens I’ve used.

With malwarebytes and virustotal, I’ve had less false positives in legally obtained games I know are clean. Moreso with malwarebytes since there’s seemingly almost always one engine on VT saying the file is bad regardless of what it is.

I always find that having a 3rd party check a file is better than just having defender do all the work. What one engine might claim is bad might be safe to another.

AceFuzzLord, to memes in D'aww

Ah, yes, more news on the real rulers of New York: the rats. Step aside humans! Do not interrupt your superior overlords!

AceFuzzLord, to memes in Later me will manage

How’d you get a picture of me last weekend?

AceFuzzLord, to memes in You have more fun with the FPS counter off

As someone with a lower end spec desktop, I personally think that running emulated games or just normal PC titles at a much lower speed isn’t an issue. Especially since I don’t play FPS games.

I’m one of those people who’d be fine running a game at fluctuating 30FPS just so long as I can play it. It’s how my desktop handled mc before I boycotted it for minetest and how it handles minetest when I’m not on a super flat void world due to mod strain.

AceFuzzLord, to asklemmy in Tech workers - what did your IT Security team do that made your life hell and had no practical benefit?

That sounds like the equivalent of asking a carpenter to build a wooden boat large enough to carry 30 people, but only giving them Fisherprice tools and foam blocks.
