AceFuzzLord,

On the laptop I got less than a week ago for college, I’ve been having fun using Mx with KDE. It’s been pretty good so far on my galaxy book.

AceFuzzLord,

Considering pretty much all of the best distros are based on those three, probably the best you’ll get is trying BSD. I can’t think of a single distro not based on one.of the three that is still maintained.

AceFuzzLord,

If you are talking about the computers themselves having Linux on them by default or dual bootable, then I’m kinda jealous. At the community college I attend, the computer lab for CS and IT related classes has only windowss 10.

Confederate submarine discovered by the US government in 1878. (lemmy.world)

Known as the “Bayou St. John submarine”, this vessel was discovered when the Bayou St. John, in New Orleans was dredged by the US Government in 1878. For years, the vessel was thought to be the Confederate submarine Pioneer, but research in the 20th century showed it was of a different design. There is no surviving...

It never ceases to amaze me just how old the first submarines ever made are/were. They feel like something that shouldn’t even be possible to have been made before the 20th century. Definitely might have to read up on this.

AceFuzzLord,

Well, now that I don’t absolutely suck at talking to strangers and don’t fumble my words, my life just got a lot easier.

AceFuzzLord,

Strawberry is also great if you are on windows as well. I support it in general, whether you use it on Windows or Linux. I’ve been using it whenever I want to listen to my music on my windows machine. Definitely gonna be using it with my next Linux machine (that isn’t my absolute dogshit laptop). Before learning about Strawberry, I was just using Foobar2000 or VLC, which both just don’t feel anywhere near as good to me than Strawberry.

AceFuzzLord,

A bit of a weird wish, but I’d definitely wish that whenever I want I could be looking at a living person (either through TV or a photo), see their age, and be able to adjust it at will. I would finally be able to turn the US legislators into the babies they are.

AceFuzzLord,

I don’t know if it has been explored in great depths in general media, but I know just about every single cartoon I’ve ever seen has done at least one episode involving age regression. I also know that season 3 episode 9 (Secret Agent Bear) of Yogi’s Treasure Hunt they had Dick Dastardly was trying to hold world leaders ransom with fountain of youth water and that’s the closest I can think of to this super power that I’ve seen in popular media.

AceFuzzLord,

Fair.

AceFuzzLord,

Finished off a thing of oreo caramel with a creamy filling.

AceFuzzLord,

I don’t know if anyone else has said it, but the belief that human illness and all that were caused by an imbalance of four bodily humors: black bile, yellow bile, blood, and phlegm. It’s an old belief where the earliest I found it being practiced was around 400 B.C.

AceFuzzLord,

So, they’re saying that man made satellites are able to stop God that he’s not all powerful and that we’re more powerful than God?

Or is it that technology is bad and we need to go back to pre-technology times when life was so much worse for the average human so that way some religious nut jobs can continue praying to a being that they’ve essentially admitted to not being all powerful?

…a Verizon representative told Poppy that the corporation was a victim too.

Fuck off. You’re all a bunch of idiots who didn’t do an extremely quick search online to find an officer of that name in that area. Or at the very least call the police in that area to confirm said person isn’t a fraudster! Large corporations need to stop gaslighting us into thinking that when they fuck up that they’re victims!

AceFuzzLord,

Maybe they could stop eating avocado toast everyday and cut back on their starbucks orders?

AceFuzzLord,

That situation is fucked and I’m definitely siding with Gary. He deserves so much better. Fuck Sintendo

I don’t recall the earliest memories or stories, but I remember at my elementary school, large snow banks would pile up on the playground area and made for amazing things to play on in the winter. They weren’t uniform either, making them fun for kids to climb all over since some of it would freeze solid while other parts wouldn’t. They were kinda like a seasonal jungle gym of their own.

That, and at the middle school near where I lived, we’d always go there for sledding because there was a hill in the very back corner of the place that was perfect for it. One night while sledding my dad decided to go down the hill on our old toboggan with our husky-malmute rescue and she absolutely did not like it one bit.

Those are the earliest memories/stories I can recall.

AceFuzzLord,

Stumpt. Despite having 540k subs, they aren’t one of the super high energy balls to the walls energy where every 5 seconds they zoom in on a small part of the video. They usually have a much more calm energy about them and one thing I really like is how they aren’t telling you to like and subscribe every few minutes, let alone at all in their videos usually.

AceFuzzLord,

Saving this comment for the day it actually happens.

AceFuzzLord,

You ain’t catching me do that, because if those balls are anything like foam blocks, it’s too much of a hassle to escape them.

AceFuzzLord,

I think when I was in, I only ever saw those maybe at one summer camp. I would have totally done it, but I’d drown because I am terrible at swimming.

AceFuzzLord,

I personally find it was a hell of a lot better when they were getting to the end and things weren’t just Fin and Jake randomly screaming while on an adventure to do something absolutely random.

AceFuzzLord,

I couldn’t tell you how far into the series it is, but that is how I came across Detective Conan. Nearing a decade ago I found it on netflix and had absolutely no clue what was going on but I stuck with the maybe 12 or so episodes they had. I eventually learned that it was pretty far into the series. Couldn’t tell you how far, but pretty far in.

AceFuzzLord,

Back when I was a kid, I was the bottom and my brother slept up top. Of course that was back when it was required we shared a room.

AceFuzzLord,

Don’t know if any other browsers do it, but Firefox for desktop added an option when right clicking links to copy without URL tracker. I don’t know if it works on yt links, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

It's funny how google pretends the music on YouTube isn't straight up piracy and everyone just goes along with it

Most people have extremely weird ideas of what’s considered piracy and what isn’t. Downloading a video game rom is piracy, but if you pay money to some Chinese retailer for an SD card containing the roms, that’s somehow not piracy. Exploiting the free trial on a streaming site by using prepaid visa cards is somehow not...

AceFuzzLord,

Probably, but at least with genres like vocaloid, you’ll find plenty of people taking songs/videos from sites like Bilibili or Niconico and they’ll either just straight up upload the video or will instead just slap on subtitles and upload without consent. There’s also a similar phenomenon with anime music as well, but that’s usually for just the music.
