Is it actually dangerous to run Firefox as root?

I have a few Linux servers at home that I regularly remote into in order to manage, usually logged into KDE Plasma as root. Usually they just have several command line windows and a file manager open (I personally just find it more convenient to use the command line from a remote desktop instead of directly SSH-ing into the...

Anticorp,

It’s about as dangerous as using IE in the old days, or Edge in administrator mode.

Anticorp,

I haven’t opened any Christmas presents yet. We’re having a late Christmas due to crazy schedules for everyone involved.

Anticorp,

Get hammered, play Baldur’s Gate 3, pass out at 3am.

Anticorp,

What’s the benefit if you don’t have ED?

My friend with no ED said he took a Viagra and it burst the skin of his penis. No fucking thank you on that, man!

Magic legs… You got magic legs, Lt. Dan!

Anticorp,

and the systems that uphold them as well.

This is the most important point. Governments at every level are discarding constitutional law, and embracing fascism in opposition of American ideals. Cops couldn’t do this without the support of city, county, state, and federal programs to give them what they want.

Anticorp,

Try Real Debrid. It’s rare to not find something. Should you really not be able to find them, then the news servers are where you should head next. Just about anything ever made is on nzb. You’ll need to pay some money and do a little learning, but the Usenet is pretty rad once you figure it out. It’s a lot easier now than it used to be too. They have clients that will search, download, unpack, and assemble, all at the click of a button. But like I said, Real-Debrid+Stremio+Torrentio is amazing.

Anticorp,

I still have the very first computer that I ever built, all the way back in 2001. I never had anything but fond feelings about that machine.

Anticorp,

He lowered gas prices and he wasn’t even the president. Truly a man of the people.

I think I sold that guy a motorcycle around 22 years ago! He was around 300 pounds and looked like a bum. He was a salesman and his wife had a super-model quality appearance. We were all shocked when we met her and shocked when we learned how much money he made. When we asked how he swung a wife like that he smirked and said “I’m a salesman”.

Anticorp,

Lots of places did enact major changes though. Police departments were defunded, drugs were decriminalized, and social programs were created. Seattle had a straight-up anarchy zone for a while. That sounds like it would be an incredibly dangerous place, but in reality it was just a bunch of young adults hanging out outside and way more graffiti than is cool.

Anticorp,

That’s really cool. I still have the metal dustpan that I made in 7th grade shop class and it’s the best dustpan we own.

Anticorp,

100% of them called out that they fucked my mother though.

Why would you tip someone who just rang you up? Tipping is for exceptional service rendered, not for pushing a button on a screen and handing you something. This whole over-tipping bullshit was started by the credit card point of sale machine businesses, because they reap greater profits. If everyone makes tips, then no one makes tips. The only winner is Square Cash.

Anticorp,

I always imagined he gets off on being drunk. He gives you part of himself and then when you slurp it he’s all “OH YEAH!”

Anticorp,

Military grade is from the lowest bidder.

This is kind of an internet myth. Military grade hardware is built to last decades. They award contracts to the lowest qualified bidder who can meet the spec. That last part is important because military specifications ensure the hardware can perform under harsh conditions and heavy abuse, with low rates of failure. They also inspect every single item, where pro-sumer or even professional equipment only has a small percentage of produced equipment inspected. When I was in the Army we were still using equipment from the Korean war and it worked perfectly.

Anticorp,

“I could care less”.

Oh really? How much less?

Anticorp,

I think it was also a direct attack on the political environment of the time. Its core message is a warning about how we’re ignoring climate change, potentially with apocalyptic consequences, but there’s definitely a secondary criticism in there. I said “of the time”, but there’s a lot that hasn’t changed. There’s just a lot less screeching now that we don’t have a howler monkey in the Whitehouse.

Anticorp,

Costco has had Christmas stuff out since September 1st. I would like to slap whoever is doing this. I used to love Christmas! Now by the time it actually rolls around I’m sick and fucking tired of seeing all the Christmas shit everywhere for the last four fucking months. Fuck you!

Anticorp,

These exist all across the country! Here’s a fun fact, the street signs are all 2 feet tall in these neighborhoods so that even low-wing airplanes can make turns around corners that have signs without risk of completely destroying their plane.
