In what world does a VPN need access to Camera and Bluetooth? (i.imgur.com)

I am fully aware of what vpn services to use and not. I am not using Express VPN, I am simply doing research for a master thesis, when I came across these results from Express VPN. If you have any ideas or corrections, please let me know why a VPN provider would need to have access to these permissions....

Anticorp,

Ideally people just don’t buy cars that require subscriptions. That’s what happened with BMW’s terrible subscription model and BMW stopped doing that shit. The only way to make companies stop doing shitty things is to stop giving them money when they do those things.

I think I sold that guy a motorcycle around 22 years ago! He was around 300 pounds and looked like a bum. He was a salesman and his wife had a super-model quality appearance. We were all shocked when we met her and shocked when we learned how much money he made. When we asked how he swung a wife like that he smirked and said “I’m a salesman”.

Anticorp,

And PHP will still be chugging along. lol. It’s weird that React syntax went from being fairly pretty, and structured, to looking like a plate of spaghetti. Usually languages and frameworks go the other direction.

Anticorp,

Apps are going to be written in React Native

Idk if I’m the only person who thinks this, but I feel like React has gotten worse over the last couple of major versions. Not only does the code look a lot messier when you use their new syntax, but the end result seems unreliable. Facebook is barely even usable now. Their history management is laughable, and it’ll drop you out of the site randomly when using the back buttons. I used to think React was really neat, but I’m not a big fan anymore. There’s too much re-engineering for problems that were solved decades ago.

Anticorp,

Very true

Anticorp,

Of course they are. Always opting for the more expensive options, these kids.

Anticorp,

:P is appropriate a lot of times when 😛 is not, and the latter is what slack converts it to. 😋 Is what they should use. One looks like you’re being silly, the other looks sexually desperate.

Anticorp,

Mac OS has autocorrect enabled by default on the entire operating system. Why TF would I want that when I’m typing with a full-sized physical keyboard? It’s especially annoying when you’re typing code. So yeah, I disabled all that crap within a couple of minutes. It’s super annoying.

Anticorp,

If there’s a bad decision that can be made, the Outlook development team made it. It’s a real shame that the industry standard is a hot garbage fire of a program.

Anticorp,

He lowered gas prices and he wasn’t even the president. Truly a man of the people.

Anticorp,

Dang dude! I just saw gas for $5.25 a couple of days ago. It was even higher when I was in California awhile ago.

Anticorp,

This constant harassment should be illegal. They should not be able to prompt you every single time you use a service. There needs to be a “NO” option. Not “no thank you”, not “maybe later”, “NO!”.

Anticorp,

Unfortunately a lot of these services are becoming more akin to a utility than a clothing store though. You need them in some capacity to function in a modern life, and there are no alternatives, or every alternative engages in the same harassment.

Anticorp,

I chose option C, don’t use Instagram. But thanks, I guess!

Anticorp,

Homesteading wasn’t just because of border disputes with Canada. The tribes weren’t unfortunate victims of a land dispute between two countries. Eradication of the tribes was one of the goals of the homestead act. The idea was you could have some land if you helped “tame” the West. Taming included killing, or forcing the natives to flee.

I love that you mentioned The Jungle. My college history teacher had us read that book instead of a text book for that era. He said it fully illustrated the exploitation of Americans and American immigrants in a way that a text book never would. He did cover textbook content during class lectures. It’s unbelievable how fucked up life was for the poor back then. We have it great compared to laborers of that era, and we have their fights, blood, and tears to thank for it. It’s our obligation to ensure our descendants have it better than we do, just like those laborers back then did for us.

Anticorp,

I took panel two to be more indicative of the 50’s.

Anticorp,

I believe what they’re trying to say is that it hasn’t all gotten worse. Labor is much better today than it was at the turn of the 20th century. The housing market is rough for us compared to our parents and grandparents, but those two generations had it extra special good, in a way we hadn’t seen before in the United States, or possibly in the entire world.
