That’s…exactly what I was describing, all while right up front acknowledging that others might do the layout and process differently. Is English not your first language? If you wont put your cart in the cart return, you are lazy. You seem to just want an excuse to be rude, so i will move on and say good day.

AtmaJnana, (edited )

That’s a clever way to rationalize being lazy. A grocery store operating that way near me would quickly have zero customers. Perhaps your typical layout is different from ours.

Cart returns in the US are typically positioned throughout the parking lot. It is quite straightforward to just return the cart to the proper spot, usually right near where I parked.

If I left my cart just next to my car or something, the next person to arrive would not have a safe place to park, due to the hazard posed by carts flailing around the parking lot. People do so occasionally, of course. If it happens a lot, though, I would turn around and leave. I’m not returning every cart for them and I don’t want my car destroyed.

AtmaJnana,

just fucking chuckle or don’t

Then…what would be the point of the comment section? People know it’s a mediocre joke, so there’s really not much else to discuss. Without the discussion, why even visit Lemmy at all? I dont get why you would be sour about people drawing inferences and discussing them. You saw the joke and apparently you don’t think there’s anything else to discuss. Okay. So why are you even here?

AtmaJnana,

Congratulations, you just discovered nominal value.

Are you really trying to put forth the incredibly naive proposition that the stock market is not aware of inflation?

AtmaJnana, (edited )

I mean, black light (aka wood’s light when fitted with a special filter) is UV-A. Hence it is important to educate people.

AtmaJnana,

The job is small potatoes compared to jail time and a criminal record, which can be way more expensive, particularly over the long term.

AtmaJnana, (edited )

Thirded. June of 2020, the cheap clippers were already all sold out, so I bought a really nice set of clippers at an inflated price. But since I used to pay about $20 every month for a haircut, they paid for themselves fast. And now every time my partner cuts my hair, its like money going into pur pocket.

AtmaJnana, (edited )

That’s a weird argument. Most people don’t want to spend their whole lives in prison. If you’d ever been in one, maybe you’d realize incarceration is not an experience most people enjoy… at all. It’s sort of the point. Suicide is even cheaper, should we recommend that?

AtmaJnana,

An “instance” is a techie way of saying it’s a copy of that thing

(disclaimer: I’m not a lemmy expert, just techie.)

A Lemmy instance is just the server where accounts and set of communities lives. e.g, Lemmy.world or Lemmy.ml, etc. Each instance can “federate” content from other instances, which is a way of publishing content to servers you otherwise wouldn’t see. You can see content and communities from other instances as well as comment on those other instances even though you don’t have an account on each one.

You are probably looking for

!hydrohomies

But there are also:

!hydrohomies

and

You could subscribe to all three, or just the one on your home instance, or whatever.

AtmaJnana,

Many (not all) recruiters will be happy to review it and give feedback.

AtmaJnana,

An organ is just a collection of tissues. So yes, the brain is one such.

AtmaJnana,

I think they’re probably just young and enthusiastic. I was like that about linux 20 years ago when I had the energy for it.

AtmaJnana,

yeah, I do still buy from Chinese companies sometimes, but only if they are smart enough to use a name that doesn’t sound like someone just used a random password generator and said “good enough”… or … whatever the Cantonese equivalent of “good enough” is, I suppose.

AtmaJnana,

Not gonna happen. I have a “burner” number too, but I still won’t give that to anyone if I can avoid it.

AtmaJnana,

(asking for a friend…who is also me. I’m the friend.)

Where is the porn on Lemmy?

AtmaJnana,

It reminds me of PLIF and SexyLosers. I may still have an archive of PLIF somewhere.

Every few years, I come back and binge re-read all of Oglaf to caught back up.

AtmaJnana,

Okay. OP still shouldn’t use it for sharing media.

AtmaJnana,

re: your edit, I thought lemmygrad was created as literally the politics forum for lemmy.ml (which is the instance run by lemmy devs)? that’s my understanding from reading comments, though no special knowledge of the situation. It seems like most of the tankie takes I see are from lemmy.ml users now that lemmygrad.ml is defederated from lemmy.world.

AtmaJnana,

Have you looked at the size of most apps recently? 350mb is slightly on the big side, but nothing crazy.

AtmaJnana,

I use Nextcloud to sync them from my phone/laptop/pc to my server then sync to my NAS, then monthly backup to a hard drive, which i rotate out off-site. In progress switching this to another NAS I store off site.
