Bipta,

That's not the joke. I'm amazed no one can get the joke here.

Bipta,

TIL it's multiple cartoonists.

Bipta,

This is why I always ask if the maintainers are open to a PR first.

Are there any good free alternatives to brilliant.org?

I’ve seen brilliant’s website and I like the fact that they make have alot of interactive visually engaging content but I don’t know if it’s worth the price or if there is any free possibly non profit version available that is just as interactive and visually engaging way to learn different math and science topics that...

It is more game like. There were no videos.

I haven't used Brilliant a ton but I don't think the other poster has used Brilliant at all. I've seen zero videos in any lessons I began. Maybe they're thinking of Khan Academy.

Bipta,

It would be logical to restrict access to alcohol far more severely if you have that concern.

Bipta,

How dense are you, on a scale from lead to osmium?

recommendations for lightweight window managers for an old netbook

Hi, I’ve got an old netbook from Samsung that has an old Intel Atom CPU (Intel Atom N455 1.66 GHz). I installed Arch on it and am now thinking of a suitable window manager. I tried Hyprland (kinda expecting it to not work really) whick didn’t start at all. Before I had Debian with Gnome, which technically worked, but...

Xfce is the best bang for your buck. Lxde isn't much lighter and I never enjoyed using it. I think Lxqt is somewhere between them.

In my experience, they'll kick your door down even if you tell them it's empty. Even if you offer them your keys instead...

And then your landlord won't replace your door.

'Murica.

Bipta,

I really doubt it. Have you seen reality? I wish the whole thing was satire.

Bipta,

macOS is certainly not better than Windows.

Bipta,

Worse is managing to type your password and confirm password identically incorrectly. It takes the same 15 minutes, but also 15 minutes of not being able to believe it.

Based on a true story.

Bipta,

Larger power plants that don't carry their fuel are much more efficient, but we're still fucked if we don't phase them out.

Bipta,

Is one of those from Love Death + Robots?

Bipta,

Better than live ones in the kitchen.

Bipta,

Richard Feynman is wonderful. I accidentally watched a 25 minute talk of his once that I started just to learn what his voice sounded like.

Bipta,

Except in this case it costs you not just your backyard but basically your entire life.

Bipta,

What causes you to go to school? Generally a hope to fulfill your basic survival functions these days, like eating, safety, and temperature regulation. Are those needs choices?

And what causes having those needs? Being born. Was that one's own choice either?

I think this argument won't work well on those who came of age when a highschool degree would cut it, but it is logically rather sound based on present realities.

Bipta,

Crucially:

However, the researchers do not yet have evidence suggesting that the symptoms have the same severity or duration as long Covid

...

Martineau said people with Covid in the study were more likely to suffer taste and smell problems and light-headedness or dizziness than those without. They also suffered heart palpitations, sweating and hair loss.

Those in the non-Covid group were more likely to have a cough or a hoarse voice than people with Covid. Both groups suffered breathlessness and fatigue.

Bipta,

Parkinsons can be controlled decently through early intervention, at least compared to Alzheimer's. It could be the difference between 10 additional years with some quality of life or not.

Bipta,

It can be confirmed via satellite, so probably yes.

And if anyone read the article:
