This isn’t a great argument. There is so much open undeveloped space in the US that could be used to house people. This interchange isn’t taking space away from anyone. There are lots of good reasons to reduce cars, but this isn’t one of them.
I wouldn’t tell them anything. Any changes they made to how I was raised would fundamentally change who and where I am now. While growing up was torture in many ways, it led me here, and I’m really happy with where I am now.
We told people to turn them off because it was just easier than trying to explain to them that they might have to restart individual programs if they bugged out. It was a simple way for people that didn’t understand computers to get everything back into a known state.
Just a bit of a warning if you do this. Business class service usually requires full year contacts, and breaking the contract can mean THOUSANDS of dollars in termination fees depending on the timing.
